Directed by Mark Sloper (Sid! By The People Who Knew Him, The Story of Skids: Scotland’s No.1 Punk Band), the 78-minute film marks five decades since the explosion of the punk movement on London’s King’s Road. Positioned as an insider account of the subculture’s evolution, the documentary explores how punk developed beyond its musical roots into a lasting philosophy centred on individuality, creativity, authenticity, and personal freedom.
The film features archival footage alongside exclusive interviews with key figures who shaped the era. Featured contributors include Glen Matlock, Vivienne Westwood, Hugh Cornwell, Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies, Gaye Advert, Richard Jobson, Jah Wobble, Terry Chimes, Tony James, and Viv Albertine.
Ahead of the nationwide cinema release, a special preview screening followed by a live Q&A session with director Mark Sloper will take place at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, at 8:00 PM.
The documentary header leads a slate of punk-related physical and digital releases from distributor Screenbound Pictures. The lineup includes a new 4K restoration UHD limited edition Blu-ray of the 1980 classic Rude Boy, alongside existing physical home video editions of The Story of Skids: Scotland’s No.1 Punk Band and Harley Flanagan: Wired for Chaos.
