The artists leading the way for National Album Day 2025 have been announced, with Liam Gallagher, Manic Street Preachers, Iggy Pop, Queen, Architects and many more issuing vinyl re-releases.

This year’s edition of the event will take place on Saturday October 18, and marks the eighth edition since being launched by the BPI and ERA in association with broadcast partner BBC Radio 2 in 2018.

The theme of 2025 will be centred around rock music, and numerous albums – a blend of classic reissues and new releases – will be available to purchase through independent and specialist music stores across the UK and online to mark the occasion.

Among those featured is a 50th Anniversary Edition of Queen’s iconic ‘A Night At The Opera’, which features the iconic hit song ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. It will be given a release on crystal clear vinyl and gold labels worldwide, and reissued in the UK to coincide with National Album Day (NAD).

More iconic names like Elvis Presley, Lou Reed, Jimi Hendrix, and The Rolling Stones, also have releases on the way, and other albums celebrating their 50th anniversary like Queen will be Patti Smith’s acclaimed debut ‘Horses’, Status Quo’s ‘On The Level’, and Steve Hillage’s ‘Fish Rising’.

Liam Gallagher’s ‘As You Were’ is included in the new list too, as are albums from Iggy Pop, Architects, Kasabian, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Check out the full list below.

The new list of upcoming releases comes just days after National Album Day announced Wolf Alice, Nova Twins, Architects and Iron Maiden as Album Champions for its 2025 edition, which is set to celebrate rock music.

Mercury Prize-winners Wolf Alice – who were recently shortlisted for the award once again this year – recently saw their latest album, ‘The Clearing’, arrive at Number One on the charts, as well as scoring a glowing five-star review from NME.

Speaking about their ambassadorial role, Ellie Rowsell said: “We are very happy to be part of National Album Day this year. Albums are so important to us – it’s one of the most romantic parts of being an artist/musician/band.”

Nova Twins’ Amy Love and Georgia South, who are returning to the role after being named National Album Day champions last year, echoed her thoughts, saying albums had “always been” the soundtrack to their lives.

“Listening to a favourite album is a form of escapism, losing yourself in another world. They’re portals to different moments in time, each one marking a significant memory. They are often a source of comfort, love, joy, or healing,” the duo added.
