Bruce Springsteen is already planning a ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ sequel

Bruce Springsteen is already planning a potential sequel to Deliver From Nowhere.

Speaking in a new interview with Variety at the AFI Fest, director Scott Cooper said that The Boss was keen on more potential films following the release of the biopic.

“I suppose if you can make four Beatles movies, you can make a couple of Bruce Springsteen movies,” he said in reference to Sam Mendes’ four upcoming biopics.

Deliver From Nowhere, which sees Jeremy Allen White star in the lead role, dramatises the recording of Springsteen’s 1982 album ‘Nebraska’ as he battles depression and haunting memories from his traumatic childhood.

“There’s so many chapters in Bruce’s life, in all seriousness, that are quite right for cinematic treatment,” Cooper added. “That’s something quite honestly that Bruce and I have discussed. I think he really loves this film. He’s loved the experience.

“I think he feels incredibly comfortable with, someone telling a very painful chapter in his life. You’d have to ask him, but I think he’s ready for more.”

The film, which hits cinemas today (October 24), received a four star review from NME which said: “What Deliver Me From Nowhere shows well is just how commercial success was a distant second to Springsteen – a man who had no choice but to rip those ‘Nebraska’ songs from his wounded heart.”

Speaking about his experience of The Boss in a new interview with NME, which you can watch above, Allen White, also said: “The first time I recorded ‘Nebraska’, which was the first time I was really singing on set… I knew Bruce was there that day, but I didn’t want to see him on my way to set.

“I needed to stay in what I was doing. He found me afterwards and he looked me in my eyes, gave me a hug and held me. That gave me a tremendous amount of confidence going forward to finish the film.”

Elsewhere, at the AFI Fest, Springsteen hit out at Donald Trump again following the recent protests against the US president and hailed the No Kings alliance.

“Outside, all hell is breaking loose in the United States,” Springsteen said. “For 250 years around the world, despite all the faults we had, the United States stood as a beacon of liberty and democracy and hope and freedom.”

He continued: “I’ve spent 50 years travelling as kind of a musical ambassador for America, and I’ve seen first hand all the love and the admiration that folks around the world have had for the America of our highest ideals.

“Despite how terribly damaged America has been recently, that country and those ideals remain worth fighting for. I’m going to send this out as a prayer for America and for our unity and No Kings.”
