Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here is on course to regain the Number 1 album, 50 years after it initially took the top spot back in 1975.

This comes after the release of Wish You Were Here 50, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary record. Dropping on digital platforms and available on 3LP, 2CD, Blu-ray and box set formats, the release includes six previously unreleased alternate versions and demos, presenting Floyd’s eighth studio album in a brand-new way.

If the numbers stay true, it will also earn the British outfit this year’s Christmas Number 1 album, and the lads know all about attaining a festive accolade. Back in 1979, they scored the Official Christmas Number 1 single with Another Brick in the Wall, Pt.2.

But they face stiff competition from the likes of Olivia Dean, as The Art of Loving looks to wrestle back the top spot to complete a blockbuster 2025 (2).

And another iconic rock band in the form of Oasis will be eyeing the festive crown, with (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? – Singles Box (3). Released to celebrate 30 years of the iconic (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? album, this physical variant is comprised of a 7″ singles box set – a replica of the highly collectible original 1996 CD cigarette style box.

As a result, the Mancunian legends, who’s Live ’25 reunion tour dominated the year, could also see WTSMG? re-enter the Top 10 once again, up three midweek (10). Meanwhile, 1994 debut Definitely Maybe also tracks to rise six places (25).

The Britpop legacy bands continue their dominance, as Blur could find their former Number 1 The Great Escape back in the Top 40 following a 30th anniversary reissue (31).

Bring Me The Horizon’s That’s The Spirit may rebound back into the Top 5 following a special 10-year anniversary vinyl release (4). The album previously peaked at Number 2 back in 2015.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s former chart-topper, Welcome To The Pleasuredome, could break the Top 10 after a Blu-ray release of the album appeared last Friday (9).

American band Geese, whose breakthrough year has seen them voted as one of BBC 6 Music’s Artists of the Year and on the BBC Sound of 2026 nominees shortlist, could find Getting Killed jumping a remarkable 60 places to Number 16, on track for a new personal best.

Arctic Monkeys and AM may also make a return to the Top 20 for the first time since May (17).

An album that ruled 2025, Lily Allen’s West End Girl is looking to climb eight places this week (24).

And, as they embark on the final leg of their reunion tour in Copenhagen, Radiohead could find OK Computer further scaling the Top 40 standings (34).
