Moby announces huge gig on Brighton Beach

Moby has announced a huge headline show at Brighton Beach for this summer. Find all the details below.

The Grammy-nominated electronic pioneer will top the bill on the final day of On The Beach Festival 2026 on Sunday July 26.

He is set to perform with a full live band on the picturesque East Sussex coast. According to organisers, the one-off seaside show will give fans “a rare chance to experience one of the genre’s true architects in an unforgettable open-air setting”.

It also marks Moby’s long-awaited return to Brighton, having not performed in the city for over 25 years.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am GMT on Wednesday January 21 – you’ll be able to buy yours here. Alternatively, fans can access a pre-sale at the same time on Tuesday January 20 by signing up here.

The forthcoming slot in Brighton is Moby’s only scheduled UK date of 2026, at the time of writing. He last performed on these shores when he headlined London’s O2 in autumn 2024.

The big gig in the capital formed part of the artist’s ‘Play’ 25th anniversary UK and European tour – which saw him donate 100 per cent of his proceeds to various animal rights organisations.

Moby’s live itinerary for 2026 also features stops at Coachella in California, Rock Werchter in Belgium and Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, among other performances in the US and Europe.

In addition to Moby’s set, On The Beach 2026 will see The Maccabees and Fatboy Slim deliver bill-topping performances this summer. The acts for the remaining two days of the series are yet to be announced.

During an interview with NME in summer 2024, Moby spoke about his decision to celebrate 25 years of ‘Play’ with a special live tour – his first European run in over a decade.

“For years, my manager has been trying to get me to tour, throwing out ideas of having a payday or the glamour of being onstage, and I’d say I’m happy just playing acoustic Neil Young songs for fundraisers in my backyard,” he explained. “He realised the only thing I couldn’t say no to was giving all the money away to animal rights organisations. The irony is the only way to get me on tour is to make sure I don’t make a penny from it!”

Reflecting on the massive success of his 1999 album, Moby told NME: “I still don’t 100 per cent believe it happened. Growing up, the music I listened to was not popular. In Connecticut in 1982, there weren’t many people listening to Joy Division and Minor Threat. So I assumed I would make music that no one would ever listen to.”

Moby released his collaborative 22nd studio album, ‘Always Centered At Night’, in 2024. Speaking to NME at the time, he said: “During the pandemic, I found everyone for this record almost exclusively through recommendations from friends and trolling through SoundCloud to find amazing voices.”
