The first glimpse of the UK singles landscape for 2026 suggests a high-stakes battle at the summit. According to the Official Chart: First Look, Joe Keery—performing under the pseudonym Djo—is currently on track to secure a second consecutive week at Number 1 with his viral hit, “End of Beginning.”

Originally released four years ago, the track’s meteoric rise reached its zenith last week, propelled by the cultural phenomenon of the Stranger Things series finale. However, Djo’s residency at the top is far from guaranteed. He faces stiff competition from two of pop’s most formidable “princesses”: Taylor Swift, whose “The Fate of Ophelia” sits at Number 2, and RAYE, whose latest single “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” rounds out the top three.

The week’s most significant momentum, however, belongs to Bruno Mars. Following a surprise announcement on January 8 that his new album, The Romantic, will arrive in February, Mars released the lead single “I Just Might.” The track is currently tracking to be the week’s highest new entry at Number 5, which would mark his 12th UK Top 5 hit.

Further down the chart, the dancefloor continues to dictate the tempo. Sonny Fodera, D.O.D, and Poppy Baskcomb are eyeing a Top 20 breakthrough with “Think About Us,” currently up seven places to Number 18. Meanwhile, country music maintains its grip on British ears; Zach Bryan’s “Plastic Cigarette” (21) is eyeing his best chart performance since 2023, and Luke Combs looks set to secure his third Top 40 entry with “Sleepless in a Hotel Room” (39).

Other notable movers include PinkPantheress, whose track “Stateside” is surging toward a new personal best at Number 27, and Sienna Spiro, one of the Official Charts’ “Ones To Watch” for 2026, who has climbed nine places with “You Stole The Show.”

The final standings will be revealed this Friday on the Official Singles Chart Top 100.
