My Chemical Romance delay first show of 2026 world tour

My Chemical Romance have been forced to cancel the opening date of their 2026 ‘The Black Parade’ world tour.

Gerard Way and co. announced their extensive round-the-world trek in September, which will celebrate their classic 2006 album and is set to include dates across the UK, Europe, North America, South America and Southeast Asia.

The first date of the year was scheduled to be at Vive Claro Distrito Cultural in Bogotá, Colombia on January 22, but as the band confirmed on Instagram on Friday (January 9), the show has been moved to February 10.

“Due to reasons beyond the control of ourselves, the promoter, or the venue, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our show in Bogotá, Colombia,” they wrote.

They added that The Hives will still be the opening act at the rescheduled date, and all remaining South American and Mexican shows remain unchanged. That means their first show of the year will now be in Lima, Peru on January 25, before dates in Santiago, Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Mexico City.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our fans and look forward to seeing you in a few weeks,” the band added, confirming that all original tickets will be honoured. Fans are encouraged to contact Ticketmaster for refunds.

Last month, MCR also announced that their Southeast Asian dates had been postponed until November, again with all purchased tickets to be honoured and refunds available. See the full details of the rescheduled dates in the Instagram post below.

Their tour arrives in the UK with a show at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on June 30, before a date in Glasgow and trio of huge shows at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 8, 10 and 11. From there, they will head around Europe and then to the US in August. See all the dates and ticket information here.

They have also announced the huge list of support acts for the tour, which includes the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen, Interpol, Joan Jett, Skunk Anansie, Sunny Day Real Estate and Mogwai.

My Chemical Romance’s recent concerts have seen them play ‘The Black Parade’ in its entirety, along with rarities from that era and some hits. At a show in LA over the summer, MCR debuted an unreleased track titled ‘War Beneath The Rain’.

They also performed a surprise cover of The Smashing Pumpkins’ 1995 track ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’ in San Francisco. Later on the tour, MCR paid tribute to their late former bandmate Bob Bryar in his hometown of Chicago.

Meanwhile, there is ongoing speculation among fans that the group will be releasing new music in the near future. Despite these persistent rumours, MCR have yet to follow up on their fourth album ‘Danger Days’ (2010).

In 2022, the band shared their first new single in eight years, ‘The Foundations Of Decay’. Earlier this year, they released a 21st anniversary deluxe reissue of their classic second album, 2004’s ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’.
