Robbie Williams teases future reunion with Take That: “I’m sure we will ride again”

Robbie Williams has teased a future reunion with Take That, saying he is “sure” he’ll perform with the group again.

The singer featured in the original line-up of the boyband alongside Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange. He quit in 1995, and went on to launch a hugely successful solo career.

Williams temporarily rejoined Take That in 2010 for their ‘Progress’ album and live tour. He then appeared onstage with Barlow, Owen and Donald on The X Factor in 2018.

During a recent appearance on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Williams ruled out a guest spot on Take That’s 2026 ‘The Circus Live’ tour – which will see them recreate their record-breaking 2009 tour, ‘The Circus Live’.

“It’s one of the best, one of the best shows ever,” he said of the original run of dates.

Williams recalled being impressed when Barlow showed him the show, and said he wanted “back in” as a result.

“You know, Gaz came round to the house in Los Angeles and he had a copy of the show and he played it [for] me, and I just stood – literally stood, didn’t sit – and watched it spellbound,” he told Mills.

“[I] loved it, and I was like, ‘I want back in’. And then the boys are redoing ‘The Circus’ tour, and it’s a great idea, and it’s caught everybody’s imaginations, and the tickets are doing incredibly well.”

He then hinted that this had “got [him] thinking” about revisiting one of his own massive past dates. “I was like, ‘Maybe I’ll do the Knebworth show’,” the pop artist added. Williams staged a record-breaking three-night residency at Knebworth Park in 2003.

When asked whether he would be taking part in this year’s ‘The Circus Live’ tour, he responded: “Not right now. I’m sure we will ride again, but it’s not in my plans right now.”

Orange, who left Take That in 2014, will also not participate in the forthcoming concerts.

In a previous statement, the band said: “‘The Circus’ tour was one of our favourite experiences as a band and, in the years since, we’ve talked many times about how much we’d love to do it again one day.

“Well, that time has come! We’re so excited to welcome audiences old and new across the UK and Ireland to the spectacle of ‘The Circus Live’ next summer. See you out there!”

Williams is set to release his new solo album, ‘BRITPOP’, on February 6. He played the record in full at an intimate gig in London last October, where he also ran through his debut LP ‘Life Thru A Lens’.

He told fans at the one-off show that he wrote the new track ‘Morrissey’ with his former Take That bandmate Barlow, and said it was about a stalker of the former Smiths frontman. He looked back on the time he “fucking hated” Barlow, too.

Williams will embark on a run of small UK dates next month, dubbed the ‘Long ’90s’ tour. The brief stint includes a stop at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on February 8.

‘BRITPOP’ was recently named as one of NME‘s most anticipated album releases of 2026. The LP will contain the singles ‘Pretty Face’, ‘Rocket’, ‘Spies’ and ‘Human’.

Meanwhile, a three-part, limited docuseries about Take That is due to launch on Netflix later this month.

Last summer, Williams performed Take That’s version of ‘Relight My Fire’ with Self Esteem in Manchester. In November, he launched a social media investigation to find out who the “hardest” ’90s boyband members were.
