Stefon Diggs turned Cardi B into the No. 1 New England Patriots fan, and the star wide receiver gushed about his girlfriend during a press conference on Wednesday (Jan. 21) while preparing for the AFC Championship game.
Diggs was asked about the viral videos Cardi’s been posting to social media, which find the Grammy-winning rapper trash-talking opponents and celebrating Pats victories.
“I’ve gotta holler at her about one recently, but it’s cool, though. I just appreciate her support,” Diggs said. “She’s been an amazing supporter of me and the Patriots. She wasn’t a football girl before I converted her over. But, I’m just thankful to have her in my corner. She’s an amazing woman.”
He continued: “Just continue to build that relationship. You know, I don’t talk much about my personal life, but she’s an amazing woman. I just appreciate her. Hopefully, I can build on that and watch that tree grow.”
Cardi B and Diggs welcomed a baby boy in November. It’s the couple’s first child together, and Cardi’s fourth baby. (She shares three children with estranged husband Offset, from whom she filed for divorce a second time in July 2024.)
Diggs and the Patriots throttled the Houston Texans 28-16 on Sunday (Jan. 18) to advance to the AFC Championship game. Diggs finished with four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown reception.
Cardi kept receipts on the ESPN NFL Live crew, who all picked the Texans to upset the Patriots. “What are y’all talking about? Nothing,” she screamed in the video.
Next up, Diggs and the Patriots will travel to Denver to take on the Broncos for the right to head to Super Bowl LX. The AFC Championship game is slated to kick off on Sunday (Jan. 25) at 3 p.m. ET.
If the Pats indeed punch their ticket to SB LX, look for Cardi B to make an appearance in San Francisco on Feb. 8, which will come three days before she starts her Little Miss Drama Tour in California.
