Jessie Ware invites you to new era of “romance, real love, performance, celebration and pleasure” on new single ‘I Could Get Used To This’

Jessie Ware has shared the new single ‘I Could Get Used To This’ – check out the theatrical video below.

The London singer has not released a full-length album since 2023’s ‘That! Feels Good!’, which hit the top three in the UK charts and earned Ware her second Mercury Prize nomination.

Now, she is back with what has been described in a press release as “the opening statement of a new era”,  with the single being released today (January 23) via Island EMI Records.

‘I Could Get Used To This’ is a classic, glossy pop track, with Ware citing Grace Jones, Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand as key influences. It comes complete with a stagey, theatrically poised video directed by Fa & Fon, which you can watch below.

Ware has said: “’I Could Get Used To This’ is an invitation into the world of this album. I wanted to set the scene of the world that I’m trying to paint in the album; romance, real love, performance, celebration and pleasure (always!) in a garden full of gods and goddesses.”

“I wrote this song with Miranda Cooper, Sophia Brenan and Jon Shave who are legends in British pop music. I’ve always admired Miranda’s work so I’m incredibly glad to have a record with her. First key change I’ve ever done – I think – and exciting start to you hearing more from my work with Jon Shave and Barney Lister amongst the other fantastic collaborators on this project.”

NME awarded ‘That! Feels Good!’ four stars, writing: “In the lead up to its release, Ware said that ‘That! Feels Good!’ is inspired largely by the confidence she developed as a performer after opening up for Harry Styles in the US last year. When listening to the loose and giddy ‘Freak Me Now’ or the soaring hook on ‘Lightning’, you could also draw similarities to Ellie Goulding’s escapist album ‘Higher Than Heaven’, which she described as her “least personal yet.” Similarly to Goulding’s recent effort, Ware finds solace in mighty piano house choruses that are playgrounds for sonic innovation, rather than emotional honesty.”

Ware played a triumphant set at Glastonbury 2024, where she welcomed her old friend Romy for a new track ‘Lift You Up’, which the pair later released as a collaborative single.

More recently, she was part of the Choose Love 10th anniversary fundraiser at the Royal Albert Hall in November, alongside James Blake, Mabel and others.
