Here’s the Date of the 2026 Tony Awards

The Tony Awards are set to return to Radio City Music Hall in New York on Sunday, June 7. The 79th annual Tony Awards will broadcast live to both coasts on CBS, and stream on Paramount+ from 8 to 11 p.m. ET/5 to 8 p.m. PT.

The eligibility cut-off date for the 2025-26 season is Sunday, April 26, for all Broadway productions that meet all other eligibility requirements. Nominations will be announced on Tuesday, May 5.

Cynthia Erivo hosted the 2025 Tonys. It was the first time as host for the performer, who won a Tony in 2016 for best actress in a musical for The Color Purple. Maybe Happy Ending was the big winner with six awards, including best musical. Sunset Blvd. won best revival of a musical. Darren Criss and Nicole Scherzinger took best performance by a leading actor and actress in a musical, respectively, for starring in those shows.

The Tonys have aired on CBS continuously since 1978 and have streamed on Paramount+ every year since 2021. The show has been held in the first two weeks of June every year since 1977 except for 1992, when they aired on May 31, and 2021, when the pandemic delayed the show until Sept. 26.

The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. At The Broadway League, Kristin Caskey is chair and Jason Laks is president. At the American Theatre Wing, Ted Chapin is interim chair and Heather A. Hitchens is president and CEO.
