Nicki Minaj hit the red carpet on Thursday night to support the release of the U.S. First Lady Melania Trump’s new documentary Melania.

The Starships rapper, who has been a vocal supporter of Trump in recent months, stepped out at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. to support the much-talked-about documentary.

Along with TV doctors Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil, Minaj was one of the few celebrity guests to attend the premiere alongside members of Trump’s administration. Most of Trump’s children were noticeably absent, with only Donald Trump Jr. showing up to support the film.

Melania, which tracks 20 days in her life from Trump’s 2025 presidential campaign to his inauguration, was directed by Brett Ratner, who is making his comeback after being accused of sexual misconduct and harassment at the height of the #MeToo movement. He attended the premiere with producer Marc Beckman.

The rapper’s surprise appearance on the red carpet comes days after she declared she was “probably the President’s number one fan” at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.

“The hate – or what people have to say – it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more,” the 43-year-old stated.

“We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him. He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?”

The Trinidadian rapper shared a photo on X showing her holding up the Trump Gold Card – which grants people residency in America in “record time” – and revealed she was “finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President”.

Melania, which Amazon MGM studio bosses reportedly paid $40 million (£29 million) for, opened in cinemas on Friday.
