Lola Young returned to the stage to perform an emotional rendition of her viral hit “Messy”—from her second 2024 album, This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway—at the 2026 Grammy Awards. The performance was part of the Grammys Best New Artist medley, which also featured rising stars such as Addison Rae, Olivia Dean, and KATSEYE. Watch the video below.
This year was Young’s first as a Grammy nominee. Alongside her Best New Artist nod, she was up for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Messy.”
Earlier this week, Young performed at Spotify’s Grammys party. It was her first time singing on stage since September 2025, when she collapsed during a show in New York. Following the health scare, she announced an indefinite performance hiatus and cancelled public appearances.
