Jack White Slams Trump’s Racist Post About the Obamas: ‘Arrest This Man’

Jack White is calling out Donald Trump following the president’s racist social media post against the Obamas. Earlier this morning, the president shared a video on Truth Social that included a clip depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes. The post was removed shortly after.

White, like many people who saw the clip before it was taken down, can’t believe it happened in the first place. “This post would basically get anyone, at any job fired immediately…except for arguably the most important position in the world,” he wrote in an Instagram post. The musician went on to decry Trump and his aggressive policies even further.

“Trump is a racist, a rapist, a felon, a grifter (currently ordering the US govt. to pay him 10 billion dollars simply because no one will stop him.) and a full on dementia sufferer, and yet he has the power to send in gestapo ICE soldiers to kill our citizens, and so much more dangerously, has the nuclear codes and the ability to end humanity at any moment based on an egotistical whim,” continued the artist. At one point, White asked a key rhetorical question: “How is it possible we’ve given this evil man so much power?”

White ended his latest note against Trump with a call to action. “Arrest this man. Impeach this man. 25th amendment this man. Indict this man. Jail this man,” he added as he looked ahead to a post-Trump world. “And when he’s finally gone? We had better put into place new laws and regulations that don’t allow anyone to find dangerous loopholes … Abolish these loopholes, abolish the electoral college, and if we had any sense we would abolish the two party system,” White wrote.

White wasn’t alone in calling out Trump for sharing the video. Throughout the day, there’s been a bipartisan response against the racist clip. Democrats like California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Rep. Herb Conaway (D-N.J.) spoke up against the video, as did multiple Republican lawmakers, including Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.).

It’s also not the first time White has denounced Trump. Last month, White mocked Trump after the president held a lengthy White House press briefing Tuesday touting his administration’s first-year achievements. In December, the musician blasted the president for his inhumane response to the death of Rob Reiner.

White’s criticism against Trump hasn’t been one-sided, either. In August, after White criticized Trump’s gaudy redesign of the Oval Office, calling it “disgusting,” the White House responded. Steven Cheung, communications director, called the musician “a washed-up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media.” But those remarks only made White double-down. “Being insulted by the actual White House that this particular conman leads is a badge of honor to me, because anyone who Trump supports and likes is a villain who gives nothing to their fellow man,” White said in response.
