Super Bowl 2026: How to watch halftime show and opening ceremony

It’s Super Bowl weekend and many eyes around the world will be on the opening ceremony and the halftime show – see how you can watch in the US and UK below.

The championship game of the 2025 NFL season will be played between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots on Sunday night (February 8) at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

It September, it was announced that Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny will be headlining the prestigious halftime show, while before kickoff, Charlie Puth will sing the national anthem and Brandi Carlile will perform ‘America The Beautiful’.

Green Day will also be playing at the opening ceremony before the game, in a homecoming show in the Bay Area for the band. They are scheduled to perform a medley of their best-known songs as past Super Bowl MVPs parade on the field.

Bad Bunny has come under personal attack from the MAGA movement since being announced as the halftime show headliner, with Donald Trump calling the decision “crazy” and claiming that he had “never heard of” the rapper.

One of the President’s advisors confirmed that ICE would be present at the performance, which followed Bad Bunny’s announcement that he would not be touring the US during his current world tour due to fears over ICE agents raiding the concerts.

Last week (February 1), Bad Bunny picked up Album of the Year at the Grammys and delivered a fiery speech directed at ICE. “We are not savage, we are not animals, we are not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans,” he said.

“Also, I want to say to people, I know it’s tough to know not to hate these days, and I was thinking, sometimes we get [contaminated]. The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing more powerful than hate is love. So, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them, we love our people, we love our family. That’s the way to do it. We love.”

He has promised that “the world will dance” during his halftime show, while NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has defended his selection as being “carefully thought through”.

Turning Point USA – which was founded by the late Charlie Kirk –have announced plans for an ‘All American Halftime Show’, which will be held at the same time and date as the Bad Bunny’s performance, with Kid Rock headlining.

When is Super Bowl kicking off?

The game will kick off at 3:30pm local time, or 6:30pm ET and 11:30pm in the UK. Green Day are set to take to the stage at 3pm local time, while Puth and Carlile’s appearances will come in the minutes before kick-off.

When is Bad Bunny’s halftime show?

Bad Bunny will take centre stage after the completion of the second quarter, which is expected to be at roughly 4:45-5pm local, or 12:45-1am in the UK.

How can I watch the Super Bowl live?

In the US, the game will be broadcast live on NBC, who will also carry the halftime show. A Spanish language broadcast will also be available on Telemundo. It will also be streaming live on Peacock and on NFL+ for subscribers.

In the UK, it will be broadcast free-to-air on Channel 5 and its accompanying streaming service. It will also be live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports NFL for subscribers.
