Bad Bunny’s adidas BadBo 1.0: A Blank Canvas for Those Who Move Without a Map

Bad Bunny’s adidas BadBo 1.0: A Blank Canvas for Those Who Move Without a Map

For adidas, Bad Bunny has become the gift that keeps on giving.

Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny has spent the last several years reshaping adidas silhouettes in his own image. From Forum Lows to Campus models, each collaboration felt intentional, expressive, and deeply tied to his worldview. But the BadBo 1.0 marks a major shift: this isn’t a remix or a nostalgic callback to previous adidas models. It’s his first sneaker designed from the ground up.

That distinction matters.

Released shortly after Bad Bunny’s historic 2026 GRAMMY night, where he won three awards, including Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, becoming the first Spanish-language artist to earn that honor, the BadBo 1.0 represents a new chapter. It’s the culmination of years of collaboration between the Puerto Rican superstar and the German brand, and Benito’s first true solo creation in sneaker form.

As his cultural stock continues to rise, so does his importance to Adidas, not just as a collaborator, but as a co-creator.

The Bad Bunny x adidas BadBo 1.0 retails for $160 and debuted in a brown colorway limited to just 1,994 pairs, a nod to Bad Bunny’s birth year. That release sold out immediately following his GRAMMY win and has since surfaced on resale platforms for upwards of $1,000.

That debut pair featured a white base with brown suede overlays, a mix of leather, suede, and rubber throughout, and adidas Originals blue accents. The Trefoil logo appears on the heel tab, while each pair’s batch number is stitched around the heel — small details that reinforce just how limited and intentional the release was.

A few days later, Bad Bunny was spotted at the Super Bowl LX Pregame and Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show press conference wearing an unreleased black-and-cream colorway known as “Rise.” Fans had already caught glimpses of this pair earlier in the year in his “BOKeTE” music video. That version featured an off-white base, black overlays, a gum sole, cobalt blue accents, and co-branded “adidas para Bad Bunny” insoles.

Across all iterations, the BadBo 1.0 carries clear basketball DNA: a chunky sole, layered materials, and a structured upper that feels bold without being over-designed.

Now, we arrive at the BadBo 1.0 in White.

Following the ultra-limited brown release, this all-white iteration marks the first global launch of the BadBo franchise. According to adidas, the colorway is meant to serve as both a fresh start and a blank canvas—for those ready to define themselves on their own terms.

Crafted with nubuck and hairy teasel suede uppers, an EVA midsole, and a translucent rubber outsole, the all-white BadBo 1.0 leans into premium materials while keeping the design intentionally open-ended.

Bad Bunny debuted this exact pair during his Super Bowl LX Halftime Show at Levi’s Stadium, where he delivered a monumental performance celebrating Puerto Rican culture on one of the world’s biggest stages.

And if history tells us anything, halftime moments matter.

Last year’s Super Bowl halftime show — headlined by Kendrick Lamar — became the most-watched ever, drawing over 133.5 million viewers. Kendrick’s decision to wear the Nike Air DT Max ’96 sent that sneaker into orbit overnight, with StockX reporting a 413% spike in trades. A shoe that once sat on shelves instantly became a must-cop.

The BadBo 1.0 is now walking into that same spotlight.

According to adidas, the release arrives as part of the “I’m Everything” campaign — an invitation to reject being boxed in or confined to a single version of yourself. It’s not about doing everything at once, but about refusing a single definition. About holding onto the ability to imagine without limits, and choosing who you want to be — once, or as many times as it takes.

adidas

That messaging is exactly why this pair is a flex for me.

This all-white BadBo 1.0 isn’t just clean — it’s symbolic. It represents reinvention, freedom, and confidence without apology. A reminder that there is no single path, no one way to move forward, and no requirement to fit neatly into someone else’s expectations.

For anyone who’s ever felt pulled in multiple directions — creatively, personally, professionally — this shoe feels like permission to embrace all of it. Use it as an excuse for a fresh start. A blank canvas. A way to keep defining yourself on your own terms.

That’s a flex — and honestly, you can’t really be mad at that.

Is the Bad Bunny x adidas BadBo 1.0 a Flex, Trade, or Fade for you?

Flex: You love it and would wear it.

Trade: You’d buy it to resell or trade for pairs you really want.

Fade: It’s not for you at all.
