What are Radiohead up to?
What are Radiohead up to?

Radiohead fans have been sent into a frenzy of speculation after all five members of the iconic band were officially listed as directors of a newly formed company, intriguingly named Futile Endeavours Limited.

As logged on Companies House, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Philip Selway were each appointed as directors of the private limited company.

The filing confirms that all five musicians — who have pursued a mix of solo projects, film scores and side-bands in recent years — are involved in the new venture.

The company’s purpose has not been publicly disclosed, but the fact that every member of Radiohead is listed has sparked immediate curiosity among fans.

The legendary alternative rock band’s last studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool, was released in 2016, and while the members have remained active individually, they have not released new material together in nearly a decade.

The name Futile Endeavours Limited has only added to the intrigue. Radiohead have a long history of using cryptic or tongue-in-cheek corporate names for their business entities, often leaving fans to decode hidden meanings or artistic references.

The band returned to the stage in 2025 following a seven-year hiatus to play a limited run of shows across Europe with stops in Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen, and Berlin – and Jonny recently admitted he was amazed the jaunt happened at all while admitting he was unsure what the future holds for the Creep rockers.

He told The Times newspaper: “I’m surprised that the tour actually happened and that we all enjoyed it so much.”

Regarding future shows, he added: “Venues get booked so far in advance. To do another we would have to decide now, and even then it wouldn’t happen for 18 months.”

He also admitted it felt “strange” not to be performing any new music during the shows.

Jonny explained: “It was great to revisit songs that we always felt were good and to find lots of other people now agree with us. And it was really nice to be playing and listening to [frontman] Thom [Yorke] again.

“But I found it strange not to be doing anything new on the tour. I guess we are all doing new music elsewhere now so that’s where our creative energies are going.”

When asked about the possibility of the band recording another album, he replied: “I’ve no idea.”
