Rush announce 2027 tour of UK, Europe and South America

Rush have announced that they will be touring across the UK, Europe and South America in 2027.

The new run of shows are announced following Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announcing in 2025 that they would be returning to the stage this year for a ‘Fifty Something Tour’ across the US, Canada and Mexico.

Those shows will kick off in June, and mark their first live shows without late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

The legendary Canadian prog rock band last performed together for a farewell tour in 2015, playing 35 headline shows across North America, and Peart died from brain cancer in early 2020, aged 67.

All 22 live shows planned immediately sold-out, leading to more dates being added – bringing the total of 2026 shows to 58.

Now, the band have confirmed that they will be bringing the ‘Fifty Something Tour’ to the UK, Europe and South America next year.

So far, 24 shows in 13 countries have been confirmed, marking the first time the band has played in Europe since 2013, as well as 17 years since visiting South America. They are pegged as an ‘Evening with’ event, and will see the band play two sets each night.

Joining Lee and Lifeson will be German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer and has released four solo albums. Also joining them will be The Who’s keyboard player, Loren Gold.

Dates kick off in Buenos Aires in January, and continue with stops in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and more, before heading over to Europe the following month. Those shows include stops in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and more in February, before four UK dates in March.

UK shows include a stop at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on March 8, a show at the Co-op Live in Manchester on March 12, and two gigs at The O2 in London on March 16 and 18. From there, seven more dates are planned for Europe, closing with a show at the Veikkaus Arena in Helsinki.

Visit here for UK tickets, and here for international tickets, which go on sale this Friday (February 27) at 10am local time.

“We can’t wait to get back to all these cities we haven’t played in so long, as well as hitting some new places we’ve yet to play,” said Geddy Lee. “Both Alex and I are loving the hours of rehearsal time we’re spending with Anika and now Loren, learning around 40 songs which will enable us to keep the shows evolving, playing some different songs on different nights.”

“We are thrilled that many of our longstanding crew have come back to help us design the kind of Rush show that fans have grown accustomed to expect from us. We dearly hope you will come along and help us celebrate 50 years of Rush music, while giving Neil the long overdue tribute he so richly deserves,” he added.

Peart’s widow Carrie Nuttall-Peart and daughter Olivia added: “We are thrilled to support the ‘Fifty Something’ tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and to honour Neil’s extraordinary legacy as both a drummer and lyricist.

“As the band enters this new chapter, it promises to be truly unforgettable. We are excited to see how their new vision unfolds, and to hear this legendary music played live once again.”

As well as the new tour dates, the band have also shared a 50-track super deluxe anthology called ‘RUSH 50’. The release spans the breadth of their discography – beginning with the first-ever reissue of their 1973 debut single and concluding with a live recording the final song Lee, Lifeson, and Peart played together.

On March 13, the band will also drop an expanded boxset of their 10th studio album originally released in 1984, ‘Grace Under Pressure’. Visit here to buy the deluxe anthology, and here to pre-order the re-release of ‘Grace Under Pressure’.

The ‘Fifty Something’ live shows come following Lifeson seemingly ruling out a reunion last year, after reflecting on their performances at Taylor Hawkins’ tribute concerts.

“The energy was fantastic around that show, I know, and some days I wake up wanting to go out and tour again and some days I don’t. For 40 years Rush included Neil, and I don’t think putting some new version together would have the same magic,” he said at the time.

“But after a few weeks that wore off and it occurred to me that despite all the pain of loss, Rush went out on a high note… I’d rather be remembered for that legacy than returning as the top Rush tribute band.”
