Across five consecutive UK Number 1 albums, Healy and Daniel have taken an increasingly central role in production, blurring the lines between artist and technician. Their ability to fuse indie rock, synth-pop, and art-pop into a cohesive sonic identity has influenced a generation of creators.
Emma Townsend, Executive Director of the MPG, noted that the duo has “fundamentally reshaped the relationship between artist and producer,” treating the studio process as a core creative discipline. This sentiment was echoed by PPL CEO Peter Leathem OBE, who praised the band’s “innovative blend of music” and their “raw honesty” as songwriters and performers.
The ceremony at The Troxy serves as the climax of the MPG Awards season, supported by major industry partners including Dolby and Mix With The Masters. While the full list of category winners will be revealed on the night, the honoring of The 1975 stands as the evening’s centerpiece, celebrating a legacy that began with their 2013 debut and continues to evolve as they prepare for their next musical chapter.
