Oasis to feature on War Child ‘Help(2)’ album with live version of ‘Acquiesce’ recorded at Wembley Stadium

Oasis will feature on the star-studded ‘Help(2)’ album in aid of War Child, with an exclusive live version of ‘Acquiesce’.

Captured at one of their landmark reunion tour stops at Wembley Stadium last summer, ‘Acquiesce (Live from Wembley Stadium, 28 September ‘25)’ will be made available as an exclusive 7” single enclosed within the gatefold of the vinyl edition of ‘Help(2)’, as well as a hidden track on the double CD version.

It marks the first physical release of a live recording from the historic 2025 comeback run, with the recording taken from the final night of their seven-show stint at Wembley. It will be available to stream from March 6 to coincide with the album’s release – and you can pre-order your copy here.

The album will raise money and awareness for children whose lives have been affected by war and conflict, with Oasis’ contribution to the collaborative charity album arriving nearly thirty years after their involvement in the original ‘Help’ project, which opened with Oasis’ ‘Fade Away’.

The 1995 charity album notoriously had Oasis and Blur appear on the same record for the first and last time as they were in the throes of their infamous chart battle, while Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher and more also recorded a rendition of The Beatles‘ ‘Come Together’ under the name The Smokin’ Mojo Filters.

The forthcoming ‘Help(2)’ has also been previewed with new Arctic Monkeys song, ‘Opening Night’, as well as new Pulp track ‘Begging For Change’.

Other big names on the album tracklist include Olivia Rodrigo, Blur‘s Graham Coxon, English Teacher, Depeche Mode, Foals, Wet Leg, The Last Dinner Party, Wolf Alice‘s Ellie Rowsell and many more.

Meanwhile, James Ford has revealed that some artists refused to be involved in ‘Help(2)’ as they thought it was “too political”.

As aforementioned, the record comes decades on from the original and legendary Brian Eno-led 1995 album that featured the likes of Radiohead, Orbital, Portishead, Massive Attack, Suede, Sinéad O’Connor, Manic Street Preachers, The Boo Radleys and more.

That album raised over £1.25million and sold over 700,000 copies, and was followed by other charity records including 2002’s ‘1 Love’, 2003’s ‘Hope’, 2005’s ‘Help!: A Day in the Life’ and 2009’s ‘War Child Presents Heroes’.

The charity works to protect, educate, and support the mental health of children affected by war – and comes at a time of conflicts in Palestine, Ukraine, Sudan, Syria and beyond.

The original ‘Help’ charity album was reissued and made available on streaming platforms in 2020 to celebrate its 25th anniversary. In October last year, it was then reissued again, this time as a limited, numbered 7” single boxed set in celebration of it turning 30.
