Ozzy Osbourne exhibition in Birmingham to expand and “tour the world” with “personal” items

Sharon Osbourne has said she is planning to take the Ozzy Osbourne exhibition in Birmingham to “tour the world” with his “personal” items.

The music manager and wife to the late Black Sabbath frontman spoke about her plans to expand the exhibition – currently at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery – with her son Jack on The Osbournes Podcast.

Though she “can’t say yet” specifically what would be added to the exhibition, she promised it was “all great stuff”. “We have personal letters to [Jack and daughter Kelly], to his mum, to his dad, I mean everything from postcards from when he first went to Europe with Sabbath to his personal clothes to his stage clothes,” she remarked.

Sharon went on to say she had “ripped out” Ozzy’s art room from the house and was planning to recreate it. She also spoke of plans to recreate his dressing room with his head of wardrobe Martha, who would curate select pieces.

She added that she wanted to bring “personal” items to the exhibition, referencing a visit to the permanent David Bowie Centre at the Victoria and Albert Museum in Stratford for comparison. “For me, as a huge fan, going in there, yes there was some fabulous stage outfits that we know – I wanna see more personal stuff,” she said.

“Everybody does it differently, and I appreciate that, but with Ozzy, there’s going to be everything from his hairbrushes to his smelly socks to his dirty paint chair covered in paint, to his little studio setup that he had at home, because we were lucky enough to keep everything.”

Along with “stacks of unused lyrics”, personal diaries and the Prince of Darkness’ original birth certificate, Sharon spoke about her recent discovery of his Top 50 songs – a handwritten list he once compiled for Rolling Stone. “It’s shit like that that people are interested in, to see how diverse his Top 50 was.”

Sharon also spoke about plans to show his artworks. Recalling that Ozzy was fond of doodling devil heads on hotel stationery, she added that there was “over 2000 signed and titled pieces” from the man himself: “There’s so much of it that we’ve really got to think”.

You can watch the exchange above at 39 minutes 38 seconds.

‘Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero’, originally was opened by Sharon Osbourne on June 25, coincide with the band’s historic ‘Back To The Beginning’ concert at Villa Park on July 5. It would serve as Black Sabbath and Ozzy’s final show before his death two weeks later.

Following Ozzy’s death, the exhibition was extended until January 2026 with the blessing of the Osbournes. It currently showcases Ozzy’s most prestigious international honours including Grammy Awards, Rock And Roll Hall of Fame accolades, MTV awards, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Birmingham Walk of Stars honours and a selection of his platinum and gold discs.

Meanwhile, in the same podcast episode, Sharon confirmed that Ozzfest would return in 2027 as a two-day event in Aston Villa.

She also shared plans to take the festival for another two days in the US, adding: “We’ve got to find a lot of young, new talent”.
