Liam Gallagher responds to Oasis currently falling behind in vote for Rock Hall Of Fame 2026

Liam Gallagher has responded to Oasis‘ fledgling standing in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame 2026 vote.

Last year saw 14 new nominees added to the longlist, among them Cyndi Lauper, Mariah Carey, The White Stripes and Oasis – prompting Liam to declare that the Hall of Fame was “for WANKERS” on Twitter/X.

When a fan replied to his tweet and asked what he’d do if they were to win, he responded by saying: “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER”. The chances of that are looking increasingly unlikely, with Oasis trailing below artists like Pink, Sade and Luther Vandross in the fan vote.

At the time of writing, Oasis have garnered just over 100,000 votes, with Phil Collins sitting at the top of the leader board with over 300,000. In response, Liam has playfully thanked fans for their inaction – writing on X: “I’d like to thank all the people who HAVENT voted for us from the bottom of my HEART this is for you thanks.”

He then followed it up with another post addressed to those who did vote. “And to all the people who voted for us,” he wrote, “SIT DOWN.”

This is not the first time Liam has slagged off the prestigious Rock Hall. Back in 2024, he once again took aim at the Rock Hall in a string of social media posts after Oasis were nominated to be inducted that year.

“Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG,” Gallagher wrote on X at the time in response to the news.

The former frontman also told a user who was planning on voting in the fan ballot to not “waste your time”, adding that “as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of bollox”.

Another X user asked the artist at the time how he instead felt about his 2018 NME Godlike Genius Award, to which LG replied: “I mean cmon you can’t be turning things like that down.”

A few weeks after his remarks, Liam double down on his stance, telling The Sunday Times: “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favour and fuck off.

“It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed. Besides, I’ve done more for rock n’ roll than half of them clowns on that board, so it’s all a load of bollocks.”

It comes shortly after Noel picked up a BRIT Award for Songwriter of the Year, which saw him pay tribute to his bandmates. “I’ve gotta thank my brother, and Bonehead, Guigsy, Tony McCarroll, Alan White, Gem and Andy – they brought those songs to life,” he said at the ceremony. “Without them, I’d just be a singer-songwriter, and no-one gives a shit about singer-songwriters.”

While backstage, he also reflected on last year’s historic Oasis reunion tour, and said the said the documentary about the run of record breaking shows would be “astonishing” for fans to see.

After the tour kicked off, Peaky Blinders director Steven Knight was announced to be working as a producer on the reunion tour film, which is being directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, known for the LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up And Play The Hits.

For the documentary, Knight’s crew were allowed access to the meetings and rehearsal rooms that preceded the historic comeback, and sources claimed last year that Oasis fans would be “spellbound” by watching the brothers work through their feud.

The update comes after Noel recently revealed he was back in the studio, although whether this is for an Oasis project or something else is not yet clear.
