Kanye West announces Los Angeles ‘Bully’ launch show and more European gigs as shows meet backlash for past anti-Semitism

Kanye West has announced an album launch show in Los Angeles and confirmed more European dates for this year. Find all the details below.

The controversial rapper will host a “homecoming” concert at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Friday April 3. It is billed as West’s “only performance in Los Angeles”, per Deadline.

He’ll be performing in support of his new album ‘Bully’, which is released on March 20. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time tomorrow (Wednesday March 11) – you’ll be able to buy yours here.

West has launched a website to promote the show, directing fans to submit their email addresses and pre-save ‘Bully’ to “complete your pre-registration to see Ye live in USA”. Some of those who register will receive free tickets, according to the site.

Ye last performed a full live show in Los Angeles in 2021, when he took to the stage with Drake in aid of the Free Larry Hoover cause. In 2024, he was criticised for “barely performing” when he took to the stage with Ty Dolla $ign to open LA’s Rolling Loud Festival. The rappers merely stood for an hour while pre-recorded music of theirs played over the loudspeakers.

West has announced another date at the GelreDome in the Netherlands, too. This follows a high-demand for the first date, which was initially advertised as a “one-night only” event. The extra show is scheduled for June 8 – Ye’s birthday.

Another concert will take place at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille, France (June 11), ahead of stops in Reggio Emilia, Italy (July 18) and Madrid, Spain (July 30). He’ll perform in Istanbul, Turkey, on May 30, following a date in New Delhi, India, on March 29.

The upcoming European gigs mark West’s first European headline dates in 12 years. His performances at the GelreDome will be his first in the Netherlands since 2013.

Back in 2016, West was forced to cancel the UK and European leg of his ‘Saint Pablo’ headline tour. He is yet to announce any UK shows for this year. Ye’s latest solo records, ‘Donda’ and ‘Donda 2’, arrived in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

The news of the star’s first date in Holland sparked backlash due to his problematic behaviour in recent years. CIDI – a leading charity against anti-Semitism in Holland – said it was “deeply worried” about West’s planned concert, claiming that his “recent expressions of regret do not change the nature or the gravity of what he has done” (per Far Out).

Meanwhile, the mayor of Marseille has said that West is “not welcome” in the French city. “I refuse to let Marseille be a showcase for those who promote hatred and unabashed Nazism,” Benoît Payan posted on X/Twitter (via Le Monde).

In January, Ye claimed that his recent apology for his past anti-Semitic comments was not about his forthcoming new album or an attempt to “revive” his career. He also shared details of his bipolar type-1 diagnosis, which he’d dismissed early last year.

“I gravitated toward the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika, and even sold T-shirts bearing it, he wrote.

Last November, West held a meeting with a rabbi and apologised for his anti-Semitic comments.

Ye had shared numerous highly controversial posts in early 2025, when he took back his past apology to the Jewish community for his previous anti-semitic remarks, and declared himself “a Nazi”. He later said on X/Twitter that, “after further reflection”, he’d “come to the realisation that I’m not a Nazi”. But this was followed only a few days later by yet more swastika apparel appearing on his X page.

In 2022, numerous key figures from the entertainment world condemned West over his anti-semitic comments. The rapper was suspended from X/Twitter, too, after he shared an image containing a swastika inside a Star of David. His Instagram account was locked as well due to a violation of the platform’s rules and guidelines.

Ye’s behaviour led to Adidas ending its deal with the artist under their collaborative Yeezy brand. Elsewhere, both Balenciaga and Gap severed ties with West amid the controversy.

The owners of a Miami nightclub recently issued an apology for playing West‘s ‘Heil Hitler’ at an event with far-right influencers.

In other news, West reportedly struggled to stay awake when he took to the stand in the trial concerning his former Malibu mansion last week.
