Björk “thrilled” to soundtrack new sci-fi multiplayer game ‘SEED’

SEED, an ambitious “always on” online multiplayer game, has shared a new trailer featuring Björk classic ‘Human Behaviour’ – and she’s “thrilled”.

Work on SEED began back in 2017 and yesterday (Thursday March 12), developers Klang Games shared a new trailer soundtracked by Björk’s 1993 hit Human ‘Behaviour’.

Sharing the video on social media, Björk wrote: “I am so thrilled my song is in this game called SEED. Congratulations everyone!!! Warmth, Björk.”

SEED is a “24/7 persistent massively multiplayer online game where the stakes are real. Life’s complexities play out in real time. Influence and nudge your Seedlings to live their best lives, while cooperating with others.”

The game is set on the planet Avesta and features human settlers who left Earth at the end of the 21st century. “On Avesta, you will guide your Seedlings through this world full of other players’ Seedlings. From small social encounters to planet-wide policies and programs, the world of SEED is deep and limitless – and full of life,” explains the SEED website.

Lawrence Lessig, a Professor Of Law at Harvard University, worked with Klang Games to build SEED’s in-game political system. “Governance in the real world is so fucked. We have to start thinking about how to build it in the virtual world,” Lessig told VICE back in 2017.

“Obviously, I have strong views in the real world about how to build democracy. But in the virtual world, I’m not interested in pushing my personal views. I am really interested in creating a platform where people can choose these very different forms of governance, and my hope is we can step back and see what works.”

At the start of 2026, Björk called Donald Trump a “cruel coloniser” after he spoke about wanting to annex Greenland. “Colonialism has repeatedly given me horror chills up my back”. Last month, the Icelandic pop star made a surprise appearance at the 2026 BRIT Awards, performing ’Berghain’ with Rosalía.

In other news, the nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards have been revealed – check out the full list here.
