Sigur Rós have announced the final dates of the world tour that has seen them collaborating with local orchestras across the globe – check out all the details below.

The Icelandic post-rock legends are set to kick off the tour in Edinburgh on August 31, with the trek taking the band across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal, before wrapping with two shows in Berlin on September 20 and 21.

The new shows mark a huge milestone in their career, and will be the last chance fans have to see the collaboration between Sigur Rós, conductor Robert Ames and local orchestras as they storm through their extensive catalogue and bring 2023’s acclaimed ‘ÁTTA’ to life.

“We’re excited to be going back to the orchestral shows in September,” the band’s Kjartan Sveinsson said of the upcoming tour. “It is always very special to sit in the middle of an orchestra surrounded by all these fantastic players we have played with the past four years.

“Thanks to everyone that has come to our shows, all the players, the crew and a special thanks to our conductor and arranger Rob Ames and our main arranger María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir.”

Tickets for the new shows go on general sale here this Friday (March 20) at 10am local time. You can find further details and advance pre-sale access here, and check out a full list of dates below.

Sigur Rós’ 2026 UK and European tour dates are:

August:
31 – Playhouse, Edinburgh, Scotland

September
2 – SEC Armadillo, Glasgow, Scotland, with Scottish Chamber Orchestra
4 – Waterfront Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland
6 – Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin, Ireland
7 – Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin, Ireland, with Ulster Orchestra
9 – Amphithéâtre 3000, Lyon, France, with Orchestre de Chambre de Lyon
11 – Auditori Forum CCIB, Barcelona, Spain, with Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés
13 – Coliseu Porto Ageas, Porto, Portugal, with Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa
15 – Palacio Euskalduna, Bilbao, Spain, with Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa
17 – Sagres Campo Pequeno, Lisbon, Portugal, with Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa
20 – Uber Eats Music Hall, Berlin, Germany
21 – Uber Eats Music Hall, Berlin, Germany, with The Young ClassX

The previous leg of the tour has already seen them join forces with the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO), the Wordless Music Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, Resound Collective, Brisbane Philharmonic, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and many more.

They’ve also played in some of the world’s most renowned orchestral venues, including Rome’s Sala Santa Cecilia, Paris’ Salle Playel, the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Their stint at the latter last October saw them take to the stage at the iconic venue alongside the LCO to play ‘Ára bátur’ live for the first time. You can see photos, footage and the setlist of that night’s performance here.

Prior to that, in 2023, the trio had followed ‘ÁTTA’ up with a special version of the record titled ‘ÁTTA Heimr Edition’.

In a four-star review of the original album, NME wrote that ‘ÁTTA’ is “a record that gives Sigur Rós plenty more reason to exist in adding some pure and natural soul to this cold and unfeeling world”.

Last year, the band also announced the 20th anniversary re-release of their 2005 breakthrough album ‘Takk‘, which put them on the map after went it became a platinum seller in the UK and shifted over 200,000 copies in the US.
