The Spanish singer kicked off her 57-date trek in Lyon, France
Rosalía has officially kicked off the Lux world tour — and it’s full of show-stopping visuals. The singer began her 57-date global trek with a sold-out performance in Lyon, France, at the LDLC Arena on March 16. It marks her most extensive headlining tour to date.
Since Rosalía announced the tour back in December, fans have been eagerly waiting to see just how the singer would reimagine her operatic, critically-acclaimed LP Lux for a live set. Opening night revealed Rosalía’s bold vision full of ballet point and pirouettes, intricate choreography, dramatic set designs, and even an entire orchestra.
Comprised of four acts, the Lux world tour 25-song setlist closely followed the album’s track list as the singer opened with “Sexo, violencia y llantas” while dressed as a ballerina. Act Two featured another dramatic rendition of “Berghain,” which closely resembled Rosalía’s performance of the song at the Brit Awards. For the number, Rosalía’s dancers surrounded the singer for the first half before breaking out into a feverish dance as the techno version takes over.
One of the highlights from Act Three includes a theatrical performance of “La Perla.” As seen in fan videos from the night, Rosalía set up a confessional with an audience member before she dove into the cheeky song. For the actual performance, the singer’s dancers lifted her up and created the optical illusion of a metronome as they swayed her while wearing alternating black and white gloves.
Of course, Rosalía made sure to perform a variety of her hit songs that are not from Lux, including “SAOKO,” “LA FAMA,” “DESPECHÁ” and “LA NOCHE DE ANOCHE.” She closed out the stunning show with the cinematic Lux closer “Magnolias.”
Rosalía will hit Paris next as she continues the European leg of the tour. The singer will also stop in the U.S. in June, as well as Canada, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, before wrapping the tour up in Puerto Rico.
