The 33-year-old singer has marked two decades since rising to fame on the beloved Disney Channel sitcom – which told the story of Miley Stewart, who lived a double life as an ordinary girl and world famous pop star – with a special documentary on Disney+, and on Friday (27.03.26) she’ll be giving fans another treat.
She wrote on Instagram: “Celebrating Hannah Montana isn’t just honoring a show, it’s a full-circle moment for me.
“HM was the beginning of the life I know now. The bond my fans and I share is as rare and beautiful as this whole journey has been.
“I adore you all and love you deeply. This anniversary special is a gift from me to younger you, my way of saying thank you for your loyalty and for growing with me every step of the way.
“This song says it all… ‘Younger You (from The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special)’ out Friday.”
During the special, Miley performed tracks from the show – including The Climb and iconic theme song Best of Both Worlds – while Disney had recreated parts of the original set.
She reunited with parents Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus as part of the while, and was interviewed by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper as part of the programme.
Miley planned the titular character in the show between 2006 and 2011, and she has admitted she relished revisiting her past experiences for the anniversary special.
She told Extra: “It’s pure joy, excitement, and celebration. This special really is a gift not only to the fans, but for myself as well. It’s really an honour to celebrate this evolution.”
Miley played a pivotal role in convincing Disney to make the special, but she is now staying tight-lipped about a possible reboot of the show.
Asked if a reboot might be in the works, the singer and actress replied: “We’ll see what happens in the future.”
Although, asked the same question by Variety, she quipped: “Girl, I’m already tired! This has already been a lot.”
