Experience, the band of former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert, are still set to release their debut EP amid the musician’s arrest for attempted murder.

Late last month, Ebert was arrested for the attempted murder of the father of Turnstile vocalist Brendan Yates.

Records state that Ebert was charged with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault, and he reportedly made his first court appearance on April 1. He has been held without bond since his arrest.

It subsequently transpired that Ebert had been arrested after allegedly hitting Turnstile vocalist Brendan Yates’ father, William, with his car.

Turnstile, who cut ties with the musician in 2022, later claimed that Ebert’s history of “violence led to a physical attack when Brady went to the house of Brendan’s parents and used his vehicle to run over Brendan’s father, causing severe physical trauma”.

The statement added: “We are grateful that Mr. Yates survived, has successfully undergone surgery, and we’re hoping for the best possible outcome in his recovery. We have no language left for Brady.”

Now, in a statement on social media, Experience have spoken out about the situation while confirming plans to push ahead with their debut release this summer. “We want to address what’s been circulating this week,” they wrote.

“What happened involving Brady is serious and deeply upsetting. Our hearts are with everyone affected. We don’t take any of this lightly. At the same time, we’ve made the decision to continue moving forward with our release.”

Experience continued: “Our 12-song EP ‘Stay Present’ was built around a simple idea facing what’s in front of you without running from it. The record is split into four parts called movements

“Reaction is impulse fast immediate
Control is where space shows up and decisions take over
Weight is pressure carried without noise
Awareness is clarity while still in motion.”

The message added: “Every song lives in the present tense. No past no future just choices happening in real time. There’s no villain in this record. The struggle is distraction. The goal is awareness.

“We’re still releasing the project as planned this June.”

In the comments section of the statement, member Bobby Faithful appeared to confirm that Ebert’s contributions would remain on the EP. “Bobby, Zach and Brady wrote a majority of the guitar riffs in addition to other guest appearances on the album,” he wrote.

He said in another reply that Ebert’s parts had been recorded before the incident and his subsequent arrest.

Ebert had only been announced as part of the Experience line-up last month, shortly after his acrimonious exit from The S.E.T.. He was fired from the latter band in February, with them citing his “ridiculous comments and behaviour towards the members of our band and community”.

The group were just about to release their debut EP, ‘Self Evident Truth’, on March 6 when Ebert was ousted.

Meanwhile, this summer will see Turnstile play a UK-exclusive headline show at The Piece Hall in Halifax and open for Tyler, The Creator at London’s All Points East. They are scheduled to perform the first of two sets at Coachella this weekend.
