Bring Me The Horizon announce 20th anniversary re-recording of debut ‘Count Your Blessings’ – and playing the album in full at Outbreak

Bring Me The Horizon have announced a 20th anniversary re-recording of their debut album ‘Count Your Blessings’, and have confirmed that they’ll be playing the album in full at Outbreak later this year.

The record first arrived in 2006 and saw the soon-to-be metal giants bring their signature deathcore sound at the time to a global audience, with singles including ‘Pray for Plagues’, ‘Slow Dance’ and ‘A Lot Like Vegas’. Now, two decades down the line and following on from the band ascending to festival headliners, they have announced plans to revisit the album and present it in a new light.

Set for release on July 10, ‘Count Your Blessings | Repented’ has been fully re-recorded by the band, and is described by them as a “reactivation” and “recontextualisation” of the 2006 release, rather than a retrospective glance back.

Led by frontman Oli Sykes and guitarist Lee Malia, the record also sees them work with Buster Odeholm on mixing and presents their debut album in a way that is “reborn, sharper, heavier, and more vital than ever.”

The tracklist is reimagined with a new sense of intensity, and the band have also leaned into the raw edges seen in the initial release – revisiting them with 20 years more experience under their belt as well as more expansive, modern production.

‘Liquor & Lost Love’ also appears under its original working title ‘Dragon Slaying’. Visit here to pre-order.

To help celebrate the new release, Bring Me The Horizon have also announced a landmark performance at Manchester’s B.E.C. Arena, as part of Outbreak.

Dubbed ‘Outbreak Presents: Count Your Blessings | Repented’, the band will use that gig to play the album in its entirety for the first time, and also break out some other material from the era.

It is co-curated with Outbreak, and will see Oli Sykes and co. joined by Static Dress and Dying Wish. Like the forthcoming album, the gig is designed to “reactivate” the debut record rather than simply look back at it, and has been structured to feel like “a defining moment for a generation of fans — both those who were there at the beginning and those discovering it now.”

Tickets go on sale on Friday (April 17) at 10am GMT, and those who pre-order the album will gain access to a pre-sale for the Manchester show, which starts today (Monday April 13). Visit here for tickets.

The latest announcements from BMTH comes shortly after the Sheffield band held a 48-hour digital broadcast of their L.I.V.E. In São Paulo concert film, ahead of it arriving on streaming platforms last Friday (April 10).

Last year, Sykes also spoke to NME at Reading 2025 about what else the band has planned, and revealed that 12 more songs could be arriving at some point as part of the ‘Director’s Cut’ of their latest album, ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’ – although it may take a while as he has become the father of twins.

“The music will come, but it’s just not the be-all and end-all,” he said. “We’re realising that we don’t have to put another record out; we just put one out. Most bands would go away for two years, have an actual break. You don’t have to do this, but I want to and I enjoy it. If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen.”

BMTH have dropped some new music already since the new year began, including the ravey but heavy collab with Illenium, ‘Slave To The Rithim.

As well as that, Sykes has announced his new live production company Patient Zero – after debuting the visuals for Illenium’s live show at the Vegas Sphere – and they have also announced a limited vinyl edition of ‘Lo-Files’ for Record Store Day 2026, as well as a special pressing of ‘Bad Life’ with Sigrid.

They will be embarking on their 2026 ‘Ascension Program 2’ North American tour at the end of this month too.
