Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her in a Melbourne club nearly 20 years ago, claims which Perry has denied and labelled as “dangerous, reckless lies”.
The model and Orange Is The New Black actor took to Threads to share the allegations, responding to a post discussing Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s headline set at Coachella 2026.
“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks,” Rose wrote in the comments.
She also claimed that she “threw up on” the ‘Firework’ singer after the alleged assault, and “changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’” when she told people afterwards because she “didn’t know how else to handle it.”
“Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret,” she added. “But I DID tell y’all she wasn’t a good person.”
A representative for Katy Perry said: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

When one person asked Rose if the allegations were insinuating that Perry kissed her without consent, Rose replied: “She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”
Someone else then asked why Rose did not file a police report over the alleged assault, which she claims took place nearly 20 years ago, the model said that she is “not interested” in doing so, particularly “not when I haven’t even filed a report for the numerous rapes at the hands of grown men”.
Rose did not go into further details about those claims of rape, but instead continued to share that she isn’t too concerned with Perry filing a lawsuit against her.
“She is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people),” she alleged, adding that there was also “so much more that happened” which “she won’t want me discussing.”
Later, Rose told followers on Threads that she had changed her mind and would be “walking into a police station to see if any of my experiences can be investigated”, even though some will be “past their statute of limitations”.

She then thanked “all the brave women who have come forward with their stories about sexual abuse” in light of her posts online, and revealed that for years she has felt “too wounded and afraid to take the appropriate steps because I know the system seldom works.”
Later, Rose shared a post which read “I did it”, and told another user that she had just left a police station.
“I said names inside the station that hold much more power than me and frankly, freak me out. I feel very relieved so far but have no expectations,” she added. “I do however want to assure people that I am in no way suicidal, if you know what I mean. Nor do I take drugs, or have any health conditions.”
Perry has been accused of sexual misconduct in the past. Back in 2018, the singer was accused by model Josh Kloss – who starred with her in the 2010 ‘Teenage Dream’ music video – of yanking at his underwear without permission at a party and exposing his genitals to people standing near him.
Around that same time, Georgian TV host Tina Kandelaki came forward with allegations and accused Perry of inappropriately touching her and trying to kiss her at an industry party.
In 2020, the singer spoke out about the accusations in an interview with The Guardian and said that it was “distracting from the real [MeToo] movement”.
“I think we live in a world where anyone can say anything,” she told the outlet. “I don’t want to say ‘guilty until proven innocent’ but there’s no checks and balances: a headline just flies, right? And there’s no investigation of what it is.”
She continued: “I don’t want to add to the noise. I want to add to the truth, basically.”
When directly asked if the allegations weren’t true, she replied: “I don’t comment on all the things that are said about me because if I chase that dragon, it would be about true and false-ing my whole life. It’s distracting from the real [MeToo] movement.”
