Kanye West has made the “sole decision” to postpone an upcoming show in Marseille, France.

The rapper, also known as Ye, was scheduled to perform at the Orange Vélodrome on 11 June as part of his Ye Live Concert Tour 2026.

However, Kanye took to his X account on Tuesday to confirm that the gig wouldn’t be going ahead.

“After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice,” he wrote.

Later, the Stronger artist indicated that he is still working on making “amends” for the antisemitic and offensive remarks he made in the past.

“I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends I take full responsibility for what’s mine but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it,” the 48-year-old added. “My fans are everything to me Looking forward to the next shows See you at the top of the globe (sic).”

In early March, Marseille Mayor Benoît Payan announced via social media that Kanye was “not welcome” in the city and noted that he would refuse “to allow Marseille to be a showcase for those who promote hatred”.

And while it is unclear whether local authorities had been seeking to get the hip-hop star banned from performing the show, earlier this week, a source told France24 that Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez was making moves to block him from entering the country altogether.

At the beginning of April, organisers of the Wireless Festival – set to take place in London in July – confirmed the 2026 event had been cancelled as Home Office officials had withdrawn the father-of-four’s digital permit to enter the U.K. He was due to headline all three nights of the festival.

In January, the Touch the Sky hitmaker took out a full-page advert in The Wall Street Journal to apologise to both Jewish and Black communities for the controversial comments he has been making on and off since 2022.

He attributed some of his past behaviour to his bipolar disorder diagnosis and a car accident 25 years ago that he claimed damaged his frontal lobe.

Kanye is next set to perform at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India on 23 May.
