Ice Spice makes light of viral McDonald’s fight video: “This wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s”

Ice Spice has made light of a viral video showing her in an altercation in McDonald’s, joking it “wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s”.

Earlier this week, TMZ released CCTV footage of the Bronx rapper getting into an angry confrontation with a member of the public while she was sitting in a branch of McDonald’s in Los Angeles, with the clip being shared widely online.

The incident went down on Wednesday (April 15), and the video shows Ice Spice sitting at a booth with her friend when they are approached by a woman, who attempts to sit with them and begins talking to them.

Before long, the woman reaches out to hit Ice Spice and a scuffle ensues. As members of the public try to intervene, Ice Spice clambers over neighbouring booths and follows the woman outside.

See the footage here:

On Friday (April 17), Ice Spice herself made light of the situation, sharing an edited version of the video on her X account and writing: “This wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s”. The rapper is known for having worked at Wendy’s before her music career took off and to this day, her social media bio lists her as a “Wendy’s princess”.

Ice Spice’s attorney Bradford Cohen has issued a statement about the incident: “The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly.”

“We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their lack of appropriate security,” Cohen added.

Elsewhere, Cardi B threatened to beat up Ice Spice in a leaked phone call that surfaced last October. “I’ma show y’all!… I’ma beat her the fuck up! I’ma knock her the fuck out! […] I’ma beat her ass,” the ‘WAP’ rapper said in the clip.

While it isn’t clear when the phone call took place, it was reported that she was on the phone with Ice Spice’s manager at the time, James Rosemond Jr. – who has denied being the one to leak the call.

NME gave Ice Spice’s debut album ‘Y2K!” a three-star review in 2024, writing: “It’s not a masterpiece that will silence the haters, but it’s not likely to slam the brakes on her rapid rise either. The lightning speed with which Ice Spice has been launched into the glare of the public eye makes it easy to forget that she’s still in the early years of her career. There’s room and time for her to grow yet.”
