The group is nominated in three categories this year including New Artist of the Year

Katseye will perform at the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Area in Las Vegas. The group received three nominations at this year’s ceremony including New Artist of the Year, Best Music Video for their song “Gnarly,” and Breakthrough Pop Artist.

Taylor Swift leads with eight nods including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. The pop star is trailed by Sabrina Carpenter, Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, and Sombr with seven nods each. The event will air live beginning at 8 p.m. E.T. on Paramount+ and CBS.

Katseye made their phenomenal Coachella debut earlier this month and their set included a live premiere of their new single “Pinky Up” and a cameo from Huntr/x but was marked by the absence of Manon Bannerman. The gropu performed as a five-piece as they delivered back-to-back hits, from “Mean Girls” and “Touch” to “Game Boy,” “Internet Girl,” and “Gabriela.” The performance continued with “My Way,” “M.I.A.,” and wrapped up with “Gnarly.”

In February, Hybe and Geffen Records announced that Manon Bannerman would be taking a hiatus from the global girl group. A few days before Coachella, Bannerman updated fans in a WeVerse message. “HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported,” she wrote at the time. “I’m happy and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me.” On April 9, Hybe confirmed to the Korea Herald that Bannerman would not appear during the Coachella set.
