Dead Kennedys founder Jello Biafra is ‘recovering nicely’ after suffering a stroke.

Anne-Marie Anderson, who works for Biafra’s record label Alternative Tentacles, has been sharing regular updates about his condition on her Facebook page, and the latest was shared by the official Dead Kennedys account on Instagram.

“Jello is progressing nicely,” the post read. “His speech has mostly come back in full, and cognitively, it’s like the stroke never happened. The left side is still weak but it is doing much better than it was. He is so much more self-sufficient than he was, he will most likely go home this coming week. Thank you again for the outpouring of support. It has meant the world to him.”

This public show of solidarity from Dead Kennedys comes after Biafra clashed with his former bandmates over their participation in the controversial Punk In The Park festival series, which he said was promoted by a keen supporter of Donald Trump.

“The real Dead Kennedys would never have let this happen,” he insisted at the time.

Biafra, born Eric Reed Boucher, suffered a hemorrhagic stroke two months ago, reportedly brought on by high blood pressure. At the time, his record label shared a statement from the frontman via his social media accounts.

“I hopped out of my bed and my left leg just collapsed under me, and I fell to the floor. I couldn’t even break the fall with my left arm because it wasn’t working either. It was at this point I thought, ‘Oh s**t, I’m having a stroke.’

“I still have a lot of great stuff in me, but right now I gotta lotta rehabbing to do.”
