Number_i’s “3XL” returns to No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot Hot 100, on the list released May 6.
The title track off the group’s third single, produced by member Sho Hirano, debuted at No. 1 on the Japan Hot 100 dated Feb. 4 (tracking the week from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1) following its digital pre-release on Jan. 26. With the physical CD release on Apr. 27, “3XL” reclaims the top spot moving 383,373 copies to hit No. 2 for sales, while also landing at No. 1 for downloads, No. 10 for streaming, No. 2 for radio, and No. 24 for video.
Snow Man’s “BANG!!” follows at No. 2. The theme song of the film SAKAMOTO DAYS starring member Ren Meguro launched with 932,321 CDs to rule sales, while also hitting No. 8 for video views. At No. 3 is the title track from ONE N’ ONLY’s second major-label single “WARAiNA,” which sold 229,859 copies to come in at No. 3 for sales and hit No. 50 for streaming. Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “Kaze to Machi” slips two spots to No. 4, placing No. 4 for downloads, No. 8 for streaming, and No. 6 for video, while topping the radio chart for a second consecutive week.
SHOW-WA & MATSURI’s “June Bride” enters the chart at No. 5. The collaborative second single from SHOW-WA and MATSURI — groups dedicated to reviving Japan’s Showa-era kayokyoku for contemporary audiences — sold 168,472 copies to launch at No. 4 for sales, while placing No. 89 for downloads and No. 46 for radio.
Meanwhile, M!LK places three songs in the top 10 simultaneously. The group also dominates the streaming chart, with “Bakuretsu Aishiteru” at No. 1, “Sukisugite Metsu!” at No. 3, and “Idol Power” at No. 4 — marking the first time a domestic dance-and-vocal act has placed three or more titles in the streaming chart’s top 10 at once.
