Fat Dog come back swinging with ‘80s banger new single ‘Go Fuck Urself’

Fat Dog have dropped the playful, retro single ‘Go Fuck Urself’ – check it out below.

The track is the first from the former NME Cover stars since they followed up their 2024 debut album ‘WOOF.’ with last summer’s two rowdy standalone singles, ‘Peace Song‘ and ‘Pray To That’.

This time around, the South London come out swinging with the ‘80s-tinged ‘Go Fuck Urself’, which centres around airy synths and pulsating electro-pop beats.

“Some jokers play the same old game / No one to annoy / Find a mirror and the person to blame,” frontman Joe Love casually sings, before building to the nostalgic, tongue-in-cheek chorus: “Go and fuck yourself/ I’m going to take you all down/ before I take myself”.

The track is co-produced by Love alongside Oli Bayston (Mary In The Junkyard, Kelly Lee Owens) and comes with a gritty new music video, which shows Love mentally preparing to enter the wrestling ring.

‘Go Fuck Urself’ is Fat Dog’s first new music of 2026, and arrives as the band are gearing up to play various festival slots this summer, before kicking off a UK & European headline tour in October.

Festival slots include appearances at Pinkpop and Sheffield’s Rock’n’Roll Circus, and other huge gigs include supporting Kneecap at Crystal Palace Park on June 27 and opening for Foo Fighters at their arena gigs in Berlin Vienna and Milan.

Last year, ‘WOOF.’ was given a glowing five-star review from NME and described as “unserious, unhinged and sensational”.

“It’s clear from the get-go that this is not a band who take themselves seriously – you needn’t look further than drummer Johnny ‘Doghead’ Hutchinson’s ever-present latex dog mask,” the review read. “But crucially, they’ve committed to the bit, and it makes the intricate and occasionally miserable post-punk that’s inundated the UK recently seem like a bore in comparison.”

Before the highly anticipated debut album dropped, Fat Dog spoke to NME for their time on The Cover, where keyboardist Chris Hughes reflected on the huge response they get live and explained what makes them stand out.

“What we’ve got as a band is special. I hear things from my friends who are in other groups, and there just seems to be constant animosity elsewhere,” he said.

“We get these moments where everything lines up: sometimes, we all look at each other on stage, and quietly recognise that we’re playing a really good gig. It’s an amazing feeling.”
