The live entertainment company shut the onsale off after fans spent hours waiting in online queues before getting kicked out
Céline Dion fans are angry after Ticketmaster unexpectedly halted the onsale to the singer’s comeback shows in Paris. The move left thousands of fans who spent hours waiting in the online queue with nothing to show for their time.
In a statement on X, Ticketmaster France said, “Tickets are still available for Céline Dion. Our technical teams have identified suspicious activities and are actively working to prevent these actors from disrupting the sale. We are doing everything possible to restart the queue as quickly as possible. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and sincerely thank all affected fans for their patience and understanding.”
One fan on X called the debacle “a drama in 4 acts” in a post with screenshots of their Ticketmaster experience “where nothing is displaying,” despite the fan’s position in the queue. Another X user shared a similar experience, writing, “I have been 5000th in line stucked for at least 40 minutes and now they are saying tickets are almost sold out. Who is buying them if the queue in not going through? Ticketmaster explain yourself.”
A fan on X addressed Ticketmaster directly, asking, “Would you be so kind as to unblock the queue for Madame Céline Dion’s concerts at Paris La Défense Arena, please. Best regards, All the people who have been waiting for 1 hour to get tickets !!!!”
Dion is scheduled to perform 10 shows at La Défense Arena in Paris, France this upcoming fall, kicking things off September 12 and running through October 14. The residency marks the Canadian singer’s return to the stage after postponing her past tour due to her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis.
“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life … I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again,” she said in an Instagram video announcing her Paris shows. She added: “I want to let you know that I’m doing great. I’m managing my health, I’m feeling good, I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing, obviously.”
