Alanis Morissette announces limited Los Angeles residency show Butterfly With A Machete

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning alternative rock icon Alanis Morissette has announced a new limited-run residency, Butterfly with a Machete. Scheduled for this November at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, the special engagement serves as a direct continuation of her highly successful, sold-out Las Vegas residency from autumn 2025. Pre-sale tickets are set to go live on June 15, with the general public release beginning on June 17, 2026.

The highly unique performance is produced, performed, and co-written by Morissette herself. Moving away from a traditional concert structure, the production is designed as a deeply confessional, multi-disciplinary musical stage play set entirely to her acclaimed catalog of music. The narrative blends live songs with intimate storytelling, therapeutic insights, and a radical exploration of fame and personal trauma, tracking her journey from Ottawa to the global music stage over the last thirty years.

The promotional launch follows a historic year for the cultural icon, who was recently honored at the Songwriters Hall of Fame alongside Taylor Swift. Her initial Las Vegas residency iteration drew rave critical reviews, with industry publications praising her raw vulnerability, dry-witted humor, and dramatic onstage theatrics. The new four-night engagement—taking place on November 5, 6, 10, and 11—marks the very first official residency hosted by the YouTube Theater since the state-of-the-art, 6,000-seat Inglewood venue opened its doors in 2021.

Promoted by Live Nation, the theatrical event will delve into the universal struggles of the human experience, exploring topics of emotional healing and self-realization. No subject is treated as off-limits, as Morissette intends to balance harrowing personal memories with moments of celebration. Complete ticket information and access to the various specialized pre-sale tiers, including the initial corporate and artist tracking blocks, are available directly through the singer’s official events directory.
