From career milestones to new releases to major announcements and those little important moments, Billboard editors highlight uplifting moments in Latin music. Here’s what happened in the Latin music world this week.
This week’s roundup is all about the power of community. In Los Angeles, Snow Tha Product was honored by the City of Los Angeles for using her platform to uplift Latin communities, a meaningful recognition that arrived exactly one year after the ICE raids that deeply impacted many immigrant families across the city. The moment struck a chord with the Mexican-American rapper, who told Billboard later that she felt “seen as a real person who matters in this fight,” adding “it’s nice to see that L.A. cares.”
Elsewhere, Latin music continued making noise across live stages, cultural spaces and social media feeds. Farruko and Christian Alicea brought celebratory energy to New York’s Gol Fest at Terminal 5, blending concert thrills with fútbol fever in a packed crossover event. At Grammy House New York, the Recording Academy hosted its first-ever Latin-focused showcase during Indie Week.
On a lighter note, Feid delivered one of the week’s sweetest viral moments by linking up with Brooklyn’s beloved Green Lady, creating a perfectly on-brand meeting that fans instantly embraced online. And in Spain, Ana Mena and Lola Índigo finally released their long-awaited first collaboration, while Puerto Rican breakout band Chuwi marked a major career milestone with its first-ever solo headline show in Madrid.

Snow Tha Product Receives Surprise L.A. Honor for “Uplifting Latino Communities”
Snow Tha Product was honored by the City of Los Angeles on Saturday (June 6) with a Certificate of Recognition for using “her voice, platform, and artistry to uplift Latino communities” during her Fiesta en Sábado event at Pershing Square. Presented one year after the ICE raids that impacted many Angeleno families — and signed by all 15 city council members — the recognition praised the Mexican-American rapper for creating “space for truth, representation, and belonging” through both her music and advocacy.
The moment struck a chord with Snow, who told Billboard she felt “seen as a real person who matters in this fight,” adding, “I’m happy to call L.A. my home now… it’s nice to see that L.A. cares.” Reflecting on the surprise honor, she also said she was “honestly speechless,” explaining that she was simply trying to do “something nice for the kids” and contribute “un granito de arena” to the community. The event itself reportedly brought together thousands of attendees for a day centered on culture, connection and giving back, making the recognition feel even more in step with the spirit of the gathering.

Feid & Brooklyn’s Green Lady Deliver a Wholesome Viral Moment
Feid gave fans one of the week’s cutest social media moments when he linked up with Brooklyn’s beloved Green Lady, Elizabeth Eaton Rosenthal. Sharing photos from the meetup, Feid made it clear the images were real — “This is not AI,” he wrote — before thanking her for being “such a great person and a great artist” and saying it was great to finally meet her. He also praised her watercolor paintings.
Green Lady later replied on Instagram that she loved his music and thanked him for the green gifts, including a jacket, sneakers and sunglasses. For an artist whose visual identity is so closely tied to the color green, the meetup felt perfectly on-brand — but it was the warmth of the exchange that made it resonate. This moment stood out as a joyful reminder of how fandom, aesthetics and internet culture can collide in unexpectedly charming ways.

Chuwi Celebrates First-Ever Solo Show in Madrid

Image Credit: @gabrielmarchese Puerto Rican band Chuwi hit a major career milestone this week with its first-ever solo headline show in Madrid, taking the stage at Teatro Magno on Tuesday (June 9). Presented by PERREOLAB and Madrid No Descansa, the performance marked an important step for the rising group, which has been building international momentum while opening for Bad Bunny on his DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour.
What made the Madrid date especially meaningful is that fans showed up specifically for a Chuwi headline performance, giving the band a chance to fully showcase its identity outside of a supporting slot. The quartet — made up of siblings Lorén, Willy and Wester Aldarondo, alongside Adrián López — continues to gain recognition for its mix of Puerto Rican traditions and contemporary Caribbean sounds. After recent boosts including Billboard’s 26 Latin Artists to Watch in 2026 and a Tiny Desk appearance, the Madrid concert felt like another clear sign that Chuwi’s rise is only accelerating.

Ana Mena & Lola Índigo Finally Join Forces
Ana Mena and Lola Índigo released “pa ti toa <3″ — their first collaboration — on Thursday (June 12) via Sony Music Spain. The track was unveiled as a surprise the previous night during Lola Índigo’s concert at the Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest in Seville.
Produced by Tunvao, the song blends merengue-pop elements with tropical rhythms and lyrics centered on flirting, seduction, and the desire to win over someone special on the dance floor. The collaboration follows months of speculation among fans and unites two of the most popular female figures in contemporary Spanish pop on a single track for the first time.
Speaking to Billboard, Ana Mena explained that the chemistry between them was immediate: “When we started recording and the energy just flowed naturally, it was like, ‘Okay, this has something special.’ It wasn’t just Ana and Lola making a song; it was two friends enjoying the moment.”
Mena also spoke about the bond she shares with her fanbase and the LGBTQ+ community. The singer expressed that it makes her “very happy” to think that “pa ti toa <3” could become a soundtrack for moments of “happiness, pride, and freedom,” highlighting music’s power to create spaces where people can feel represented and be their true selves. — FRANCHESCA GUIM
