Jeremy Clarkson reveals cancer diagnosis

TV personality Jeremy Clarkson is battling cancer.

Returning to Instagram on Tuesday, the former Top Gun presenter warned fans of his farming documentary show, Clarkson’s Farm, that the final two episodes of season five were a “difficult watch” and contained “sombre news”.

In the episodes, which are now available to stream via Prime Video, Clarkson announced to fellow farmers Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland that he has prostate cancer.

The 66-year-old went on to note that the cancer was “aggressive” but insisted “it’s really early”.

“I was praying we could get the harvest done and then I could go and get some treatment, but it’s going to be slap bang in the middle,” he said. “Listen, I’m not daft, it’s going to be in about two weeks, maybe three. I’ll have to go and have an operation, and then, the operation is in and out in no time, but your body’s out of action for a little while.”

Later in the episode, Clarkson reflected on his recent health issues.

“So, we started the year, and I had coronary heart disease and ended it with me with cancer,” the father-of-three continued, adding that he didn’t want to “dwell” on the “bad things”.

The series concludes with Clarkson sitting in a hospital bed and lamenting how he “started season five with me in a hospital bed and we are at the end of season five and I’m back in a hospital bed”.

The host didn’t offer much more detail about his condition, divulging that he doesn’t “know what’s going to happen” after “some of the treatment” had “gone awry”.

“What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t,” he added. “Take care everyone.”

In October 2024, Clarkson shared that he had a stent fitted after experiencing a “sudden deterioration” in his health.
