With Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt set to turn 30 on Thursday (June 25), Roc Nation announced plans for various pop-ups, activations and experiences across New York City commemorating Hov’s debut album.
The JAŸ-Z 30 celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. ET in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood with pop-ups offering limited-edition items and exclusive merchandise. Roc Nation revealed that ’96 & Forever will serve as a “yearlong program [that] commemorates JAŸ-Z’s body of work as a cultural archive.”
Fans can head to the JAŸ-Z 30 website to reserve their spot and find out specific locations of the activations.
The Brooklyn Public Library also partnered with Roc Nation on a JAŸ-Z 30 library card celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt. The exclusive library card follows the successful launch of the Jay-Z-themed cards surrounding The Book of HOV exhibit in 2023.
Marcy Library is giving fans the opportunity to peruse a Jay-Z-curated book list to see what has caught Hov’s eye and influenced the Brooklyn rap deity to become a billionaire polymath.
iHeartRadio is also getting in on the celebration this week by playing Jay’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction speech at midnight ET on June 23. The radio powerhouse and media company is also teasing a special surprise when broadcasting Reasonable Doubt in its entirety on June 25.
After headlining Roots Picnic in May, Jay-Z will be bringing Reasonable Doubt to The Bronx when he takes over Yankee Stadium for three shows on July 10 through July 12. The Friday, July 10, show is slated to celebrate Reasonable Doubt, while July 11 is geared toward The Blueprint‘s 25th anniversary.
Reasonable Doubt arrived on June 25, 1996. The album peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 and spent 18 weeks on the chart.
