Wembley Stadium confirms rule change for Harry Styles gig during heatwave

Wembley Stadium has confirmed a rule change for Harry Styles’ show tomorrow amid an extreme heatwave in the UK.

The former One Direction singer is due to continue his record-breaking ‘Together, Together’ residency at the venue tomorrow night (June 23), with Shania Twain once again appearing as a special guest.

The show is still set to go ahead as planned, but Wembley has relaxed its usual water bottle policy due to the severe warm weather expected in the capital.

While metal bottles are not usually permitted inside the stadium, guests will be allowed to bring metal or hard plastic water bottles to Tuesday’s show, where they can be filled at free refill stations.

Empty soft-plastic bottles up to 500ml are also permitted, while bottled water sold across all bars will be reduced by 50 per cent. Free water points will be available in the stadium. Free sun cream will also be available from information points inside Wembley.

Fans have been advised to stay hydrated, take breaks in shaded areas, wear sun cream, dress in loose, breathable clothing and avoid arriving too early.

The warning comes as London faces extreme temperatures this week, with highs in the mid-30s forecast for Tuesday and a red Met Office extreme heat warning in place from Wednesday morning into Thursday night.

Doors open at 5pm, with Shania Twain due on stage at 6.55pm. Styles is expected to begin his set at 8.15pm, with curfew set for 10.30pm.

Styles’ Wembley residency began on June 12 and is due to continue through to July 4. His remaining London dates are June 23, 26, 27 and 29, plus July 1, 3 and 4.

The 12-night run is the longest single-artist residency in Wembley Stadium history, surpassing Coldplay’s 10-night run in 2025 and Taylor Swift’s eight-night solo-artist record in 2024.

Styles kicked off the residency earlier this month by paying tribute to the late David Hockney and reflecting on his One Direction days.

He dedicated ‘Taste Back’ “to all the ravers in the house”, as a snippet of Underworld’s ‘Born Slippy’ was interpolated into the song, while a brief burst of Talking Heads’ ‘This Must Be The Place’ was introduced to ‘Treat People With Kindness’. During ‘Dance No More’, the pop star’s band played part of the groove from Happy Mondays’ ‘Step On’, while Styles sang a snatch of Gorillaz’s ‘Clint Eastwood’.

He also recently played a special orchestral show as part of his own Meltdown Festival at London’s Southbank Centre, performing reworked solo tracks, rarities and covers with the Jules Buckley Orchestra and House Gospel Choir.

His fourth album ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’ came out in March and NME gave it four stars, noting: “Largely, Styles taking a new approach to things really works – ‘Kiss All The Time…’ feels like an album that you’ll really want to spend a lot of time with, letting all its layers envelope you.”
