Last night (Sunday June 21), Josh Homme and co. teased fans with a video showing a Google search of things to do in Iceland, which they followed up by searching when the band’s next gig there would be.

Now, they’ve officially announced a one-off show at Reykjavík’s Laugardalshöll on Saturday October 24 at Reykjavík’s Laugardalshöll, marking a long-overdue reunion with local fans, who will also see Reykjavik’s own Virgin Orchestra open the gig.

Taking to social media to announce the gig, they wrote: “Iceland, it’s simply been too long. HERE. WE. COME.” Tickets go on sale this Friday (June 26) at 11.00am local time. You can find yours here and visit here for more information.

The one-off show follows a stripped-back performance at the historic Parisian Catacombs back in 2024, which was captured for an accompanying concert film and live album.

NME awarded Alive In The Catacombs four stars, writing: “Alive In The Catacombs may be powerful enough alone, but it hits differently when followed by Neumann’s companion doc.

“It’s explained that the grisly performance has been 20 years in the planning, though only came to fruition when Homme was at death’s door himself. Alive In Paris And Before begins with last summer’s European tour – including the story of Homme’s “medical emergency” and cancer battle (he’s since had the all-clear).”

QOTSA followed up the Catacombs show with a tour of the UK, Europe and North America at which they recreated the intimate look of the caves, and were joined by a string section.

The final of the UK dates was at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October, where they aired new material and were joined by Matt Berry for a stripped-back and emotional set – you can check out footage and photos from the show here.

With QOTSA set to return to the road later this year with stadium support dates with System Of A Down in the UK and Europe and Foo Fighters in North America, fans are expecting the follow-up to ‘In Times New Roman’ to arrive in 2026.

Speculation about a new project ramped up after they debuted new track ‘Easy Street’ last year. Once clips of the performance emerged online, fans traded theories over whether it would appear on the band’s next album.
