My Chemical Romance announce special London release party during Wembley Stadium run

My Chemical Romance have announced a special London release party for the deluxe edition of Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.

The emo legends, who will hit Wembley Stadium for three sold-out shows on July 9, 10 and 11, are re-releasing their beloved 2010 record this month with a batch of special editions and bonus material.

On July 9, they will bring Battery City Underground: Danger Days – A Release Party to BOXPARK Wembley.

The reissue will drop the following day, but fans can celebrate the release a early with the event from BL/ind, which will feature a DJ set from Sean Smith.

In a nod to the world of Danger Days, there will also be special guest appearances from DJ Kobra Kid and DJ Party Poison.

Tickets, which go on sale at 10am on Tuesday (07.06.26), cost just £5, with doors opening at 6pm.

Fans can get access to tickets by preodering a copy of Danger Days (Deluxe Edition) by 3pm on Monday (06.07.26).

There is also a UK exclusive BL/ind Edition CD of the Danger Days reissue, which has exclusive artwork and a card wallet with an insert.

The I’m Not Okay (I Promise) icons – made up of Ray Toro, Frank Iero, and brothers Gerard and Mikey Way – are currently on their 20th anniversary Black Parade tour.

They have confirmed plans to launch a dedicated space on Instagram and TikTok for fans to “gather” and get future updates on the band.

Alongside a video teaser, the band shared on Instagram: “Today we are launching @MCRmyofficial on IG and TikTok as a home for our fans to gather.

“The MCRmy has been part of what we do from the beginning and we are very excited that there will be an official shared space for special updates, information, and media for all of you.

“We are humbled to be able to do this and that you all continue to show up.

“See you soon.”

Meanwhile, MCR are seemingly working on a new theatre project.

The emo legends could be set to bring their music to the stage with playwright and actor John Cameron Mitchell.

Earlier this year, Mitchell – who wrote, directed and starred in 2001’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch – told the Only Child podcast that he is working on “a project for theatre” with the band.

He added: “It’s a little secret. It’s not announced yet, but you know I’m gonna give you a little zzzt there. That’s all you’re getting.”

Mitchell didn’t offer any more details and admitted some contracts still needed to be signed, but he heaped praise on the I’m Not Okay (I Promise) rockers.

He added: “And you know, we still gotta sign stuff, but they’re great people. They’re so luxurious now that they do one [show] a week.”

They would be following in the footsteps of Green Day, whose American Idiot musical based on their 2004 LP of the same name ran for over 400 shows on Broadway between 2010 and 2011, before going on tour.

The idea of a Black Parade musical has been floated around for a long time, and back in 2021, Gerard opened up on the possibility.

He told Travis Mills on Apple Music 1: “There were talks very early about some kind of animated musical.

“Then there was talks a decade or so later about a musical. But the person who approached me about this musical there said, ‘Are you ever interested in doing Black Parade as a musical?’

“I was like, ‘To be honest with you, I think it’s too soon,’ at the time. I was like, ‘I don’t think the record has lived long enough.’”
