The couple, who announced their engagement last August, celebrated their wedding at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Friday night (July 3). After the ceremony, screens outside the arena lit up with the text, “JUST&T MARRIED”, for the fans gathered outside.
Shortly afterwards, President Donald Trump‘s administration poked fun at the newlyweds, sharing an altered photo which saw the sign read instead: “Trump Is Your President.”
“IT’S HAPPENED!!!” the White House captioned the meme on X.
The day before, the White House shared another image on its official X account referencing Swift with an Eras Tour-inspired poster featuring Trump. “It’s been a long time coming…,” the caption read.

Previously, Trump has admitted that he “hates” Swift. It came after Swift broke her silence on the US elections back in 2024, following the first debate between Kamala Harris and Trump. In an update shared with her 284million Instagram followers at the time, she threw her support behind former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
He later suggested that Swift would “probably pay a price” for her support of Harris, but followed it up by calling her “unusually beautiful” and questioning whether her political stance is “just an act”.
Since then, Trump has made his disdain for the singer known, mocking her over the Kansas City Chiefs’ (the team her now-husband Kelce plays for) Super Bowl loss in 2025.
Swift was infamously booed by crowdgoers at the game, which Trump later trolled her over, also gloating that “the world is healing!” in response to her frosty reception at the game.
However, upon announcing her engagement to Kelce, the president appeared to backtrack his previous comments, calling her a “terrific person” and wishing the couple “a lot of luck”.
She’s not the only star to capture the president’s attention. More recently, he has been diagnosing several Hollywood celebrities with “Trump Derangement Syndrome” – calling out the likes of Julia Roberts, Robert De Niro, Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, John Leguizamo, and Edward Norton.
As for Swift, it’s been confirmed that Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks performed at her wedding.
The latest reports come after Swift and Kelce donated $26million (£19.5million) to 20 charities across the United States earlier this week.
The wedding has also drawn comment from New York mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose office confirmed the “Special Event at MSG” permit had been approved on Wednesday night (July 1).
Mamdani has declined to go into further detail about the city’s role in the event, although he joked at a recent press conference: “If you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool.”
The mayor has also leaned into the Swift conversation this week by revealing his favourite Taylor Swift songs to the New York Times, with his list including ‘Only The Young’, ‘Love Story’, ‘My Tears Ricochet’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘I Know Places’.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Swift and Kelce’s wedding invitations reportedly came with NDAs ahead of the rumoured Madison Square Garden nuptials.
Swift released her latest album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ last October, with NME giving it three stars and writing: “To seek escapism is not a sin, but the best pop music makes the personal feel like life or death.”
