July is going down as a dream month for Madison Beer. After headlining Madison Square Garden two weeks ago, the pop star announced on Tuesday (July 28) that she’s engaged to Justin Herbert.
“Meet my fiancé,” she captioned the post to Instagram. The photos find the NFL quarterback getting on one knee in a grass field surrounded by a colorful garden. He throws his fiancé over his shoulder and they’re greeted by the first Mr. and Mrs. Herbert sign in the carousel post full of Kodak moments.
The pop star and Herbert sparked dating rumors in August 2025 and are now engaged after about a year of dating. The Los Angeles Chargers star popped the question just before heading off to training camp, as veteran players are slated to report to Chargers camp to begin the season on Tuesday.
The engagement post has been flooded with congratulatory messages from Beer’s pop star peers such as Tate McRae, Zara Larsson and Gracie Abrams. “Oh my goooodnesss congrats,” McRae wrote. Abrams gushed: “Ohhhhhhh so happy for you I love you!”
Madison Beer kicked off 2026 with the release of Locket in January, which notched a top 10 debut on the Billboard 200. The “Bittersweet” singer has long manifested playing a show at Madison Square Garden, and those dreams became a reality on July 13 when she headlined a sold-out concert at MSG to wrap up her Locket Tour.
As for Herbert, the Chargers quarterback is entering year seven in the NFL, and he’ll look to add a Super Bowl ring to his résumé after putting a diamond on the singer’s finger.
