Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry have performed their single ‘Hive Mind’ live for the first time at a surprise show in Brooklyn – watch footage below.
The Kentucky hardcore band and Florida rapper released the track in February, combining Knocked Loose’s metalcore sound with Curry’s rapid-fire delivery and trap influences.
On Tuesday night (July 28), they joined forces again for a free pop-up show at Substance Skatepark in Brooklyn, which was announced just one day in advance and also featured New York hardcore band Combust.
During Knocked Loose’s set, Curry emerged to perform his verse on ‘Hive Mind’ alongside frontman Bryan Garris, as the packed skatepark descended into a mass of moshing and crowd-surfing.

The track’s accompanying video was similarly filmed at a skatepark, with Garris and director Eric Richter capturing the band performing at David Armstrong Extreme Park in their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
Garris said when the track was first released that the group had been talking about working with Curry for some time, insisting that the rapper was the only artist who would be able to make the track work.
“We wondered if we could pull it off and who would be down,” he said. “In the very beginning, we said for it to work, it would have to be Denzel Curry. Because he gets it.”
‘Hive Mind’ was Knocked Loose’s first new music since their 2024 album ‘You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To‘, which included the Grammy-nominated Poppy collaboration ‘Suffocate‘.
Garris has told NME that the increase in attention around the group had only encouraged them to become more extreme. “We see people reacting positively to all of this chaos that we’re introducing to our sound and we get inspired by that feedback, inspired by past extremes working. That’s how it will stay,” he said.
Knocked Loose and Curry will begin their co-headline ‘Hive Mind’ North American tour at the MegaCorp Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky on September 26. The 24-date run will take them across the continent, before wrapping in Mexico City on November 8. Find any remaining tickets here.

In a three-star review, NME described it as “chaotic, playful and packed with personality”, adding: “Like its namesake, the tape hits like the swing of a scythe: wide rather than precise – not every cut lands cleanly, but enough to make the chaos feel intentional.”
