Tate McRae struggled with her mental health after Miss Possessive tour

Tate McRae struggled with “dark” thoughts after wrapping up her Miss Possessive Tour.

The Greedy hitmaker has revealed she experienced a difficult emotional comedown after wrapping up her eight-month 2025 tour, admitting the period afterwards left her feeling “dark”.

Speaking to Variety, Tate explained that she struggled to adjust after spending months performing on stage night after night.

“I remember reading Sylvia Plath being like, ‘I am her,'” she said. “My thoughts felt so dark at the time, and I felt so lonely. I really needed to come back into my body and regulate my nervous system.”

The 23-year-old added, “I was so shot after the tour. I couldn’t really sleep at night.”

Tate went on to admit that constantly seeing footage of herself performing affected how she viewed herself.

“I’d seen so much of myself that I was like, ‘I want to go into a black room and not look in a mirror for six months,'” she told the outlet. “And I think I really had to check myself and be like, ‘You’re not the worst person in the world. You’re not the ugliest person in the world. You haven’t done everything wrong. And, you know, you’re just doing what you love.'”

The Miss Possessive Tour featured 83 shows, beginning in March 2025 and concluding in November.

Since wrapping the tour, the Sports Car singer has only had a handful of festival appearances this year, including Lollapalooza, with a full tour not expected until a future album cycle.
