Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sues accuser Lil Rod for defamation

Sean Combs has countersued accuser Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones for allegedly “stealing” the music mogul’s personal documentary footage and selling it to Netflix.

The material was used in the streamer’s 50 Cent-produced docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

In the complaint, obtained by Rolling Stone, Combs also claimed that Jones made several defamatory statements in the four-part special, which aired in December 2025 and was nominated for three Emmys.

The Grammy-winning music producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist originally sued Combs for $30 million (£22.2 million) in February 2024, three months after Combs’ longtime ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura filed her bombshell sexual abuse and sex trafficking lawsuit against him.

In his own lawsuit, Jones stated that he was brought into Combs’ business in the autumn of 2022 to work on Combs’ album The Love Album: Off the Grid.

During his time working closely with Combs, Jones claimed he witnessed many alarming incidents, including a shooting, rampant drug use and firearms kept inside at least one of Combs’ residences.

He filed a federal lawsuit against the hip-hop mogul, alleging sexual harassment, drugging and racketeering based on his experiences.

In the documentary, Jones repeated and expanded upon some of his lawsuit’s allegations in the documentary. Combs has denied Jones’ claims.
