Diplo has shared that he privately welcomed a daughter one year ago.
The DJ showed off his fourth child during a family trip to Peru where she hit her first birthday milestone.
“My daughter celebrated her first birthday with llamas wearing sunglasses,” Diplo wrote in an Instagram post.
He is also dad to sons Lockett, 15, and Lazer, 11, with ex Kathryn Lockhart, as well as Pace, six, with Jevon King.
The family trip was something the Where Are U Now musician was determined to fit into his busy schedule.
“This trip didn’t fit anywhere in my schedule, so I just tore up the calendar because I’ve missed things before telling myself there’d be a next time,” the Major Lazer lead explained.
“I always have a lot on. But I’d rather lose sleep with my family than at a club or a rave this summer. Happiness is all just moments we collect, and some of them sit at 15,000 feet,” he continued before sharing a few more personal details about the family adventure.
“Dad asked a shaman if he’d find love again since my mother passed. It was the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever heard him say.
“Lazer couldn’t find Peru on a map a week ago and walked out of the airport in a poncho and an alpaca hat looking like he’d been selling ayahuasca to backpackers.”
Diplo is about to hit the road for a string of DJ gigs, beginning in Ibiza on 20 August and taking in festivals in Las Vegas, Bali and Caracas, Venezuela.
